Plenty of character. It doesn't get better than this. Low lighting for romantic, classics rests away from work and the big smoke

“Lovely, cosy getaway”

Just back from our weekend away, staying in Ramblers Barn and thank you - we loved it! Cosy and full of additional homely touches. Clean with a comfy bed and fluffy pillows. Great sofa for lunging at the end of a busy day and a well equipped kitchen.

Grateful that it was chilly enough to need to log burner, but really the house was plenty warm enough to use just the heaters. Great value accommodation, fabulous location and we so appreciated the maps left in the house. Walked for 13miles on our first day and did some trail running on the second. Great local pubs around too.

The TV/DVD/Projector combination was a bit complex - and we are pretty good at this stuff. A lovely idea, but not sure its really worth the hassle.

The cottage is well equipped and centrally located. For the not so technical some instructions for operation would be a bonus.

We are basking at this moment in the warm glow of the wood burner, after another good day's walk in this charming corner of the Peak District. There are so many varied walks to be enjoyed from the doorstep. The barn couldn't be better positioned for a relaxing holiday. If you don't have a car there are buses here from Buxton or Ashbourne which stop at the door. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped with a quirky mezzanine bedroom.

What an amazing place! Such a romantic and relaxing place to be. Beautiful nature for walks and riding...so nice and quiet. We were nicely welcomed and got loads of advice where to go and what to do. Recommend it to all :)

“A peaceful break away from a city life”
Reviewed 14 February 2016 for a stay in November 2015

We have trully enjoyed our stayed at the cottage and found it to be an increadible value for money. The cottage was lovely and very warm despite going during the cold period, the wood burner allowed for a charming nights in. Everything you need is available in the cottage including a selection of dvds. Absolutely in love with the cat visiting us for a bit of fuss. The cottage is in a perfect location for either hiking trips or to visit local towns of buxton and bakewell, near Hartington were you can find a pub serving delicious meals. The little criticism we have is that in needs a lick of paint and to be finished off as you see expanding foam sticking out everywhere that just needs cutting down, coffee or tea stain all over the wall by the tv unit we also found it hard to work the projector as it didnt override the tv and we had to cover up the tv screen so the movie wasnt being displayed in two places at the same time.

We would certainly recomend and would saty again.

“Lovely for a quick getaway”
Reviewed 30 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

Lovely barn in a good location with easy access to local pubs and good walks. The welcome pack was very useful for planning walks and answers to questions about the barn. The barn was great value for money, well decorated, clean and well maintained. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and you are in easy driving distance from Chatsworth House, Buxton etc. The Hartington cheese shop which is 5 mins away is a great also.

The wood fire in the barn was great and there were lots of blankets and boardgames which was nice. Only downside really was the shower and not being given more detailed directions before arrival. Thank you for a lovely stay!!

“Perfect Little Getaway!”
Reviewed 9 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We stayed for a couple of nights and loved it, the weather was rubbish but it didn't really matter we got the place nice and toasty with the log burner and underfloor heating, would highly recommend for a relaxing break. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfy, the bathroom is small but it wasn't a problem. Thanks we will be back again soon. Paul and Lisa
