This is a gem of a surprise in Richmond. What counts most is the food, of course; this menu is varied, truly Italian, and both times I've visited in recent weeks, all choices have been excellent. All-Italian, with very generous portions. The wine list is exhaustive - very pleased to see such variety at a reasonable cost. To top off the experience, the service has been consistently professional, with informed and helpful servers and well-trained host staff. Add to this, the magnificent view, looking right at the pier and toward a spectacular sunset. (You really do forget you're at the casino! There is no noise, and no indication you're anywhere but in a tranquil restaurant!) Two excellent dining experiences. Highly recommended. (Call ahead and ask for a table at the 'corner/window' or window. Your request will be honoured.)

There are certainly many excellent Italian restaurants in Vancouver and a few good ones in Richmond. In our opinion, the very best is situated in a very unusual place: at the casino. The Tramonto Restaurant at the RiverRock Casino Resort is simply outstanding. This has become one of our favourite restaurants. It is not overpriced, the service is superb and the food is something to email home about. The Manager Quentin Kayne decided to organize on March 26 their first Wine Dinner Series prepared by their Chef Robert Mackay. We invited six friends to join us for this sold out event at $89.00 per person. The wines featured were from BC. Each fabulous dish was presented by the Chef and each wine was described in detail by various staff members. The dinner consisted of 5 delicious courses starting with an incredible combination of goat cheese, beef Carpaccio mixed with wild honey walnuts, celery hearts and anise served with a Gray Monk Odyssey rosé. Seared albacore tuna with beet puree, fennel remoulade, tomato escabèche and micro greens followed. It was served with one of our favorite wines, a Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris. Our favorite dish of the evening was the incredible pan fried halibuts cheeks served with roasted sun chokes; tomato confit and pea shoot in a vegetable broth. The cheeks were so tender they virtually melted in your mouth. A rich Blue Mountain Pinot Noir was perfect with these succulent cheeks. Smoked pork medallions with navy beans ragout was the last entrée of the evening. The wine served with the medallions was, as far as we were concerned, the best one of the entire meal: a syrah from the Vignoble des Pins bottled especially for the Tramonto. We barely had room left for the dessert but we could not resist the caramelized fig tart served with an unusual but very tasty Black Sage Vineyard “Pipe” port. Our main waiter was Tracy Clark, one of the best in the business, and we always ask for him when we make our reservations at this restaurant. The evening would not have been complete without a standing ovation for this divine dining experience. It is unfortunate that we will not be able to attend the next series in June but our friends will be there and we intend to be back in town for the one that follows in October. We are having dinner tonight at the Tramonto. After all this is our wedding anniversary and we deserve to be spoiled a little.

I had three dishes:
Parsnip soup - came with weird duck confit and Chutney - weird
Escargots - bland and no garlic
Gnocchi - grossest Gnochi ever - cheap sauce and cheap meat balls

Good service and good views over the Fraser River, but so not go there for the food.

Overpriced, too

Staying the the airport hotel and decided to try the Casino restaruant. Easy access via three stops on the Canada line public transit. Had a reservation for 7 pm, arrived at 6:45 and seated at a corner table near the windows. The restaurant lacks warmth and appears ready for a update. Ordered a wild green salad (tasty, nice mixture) and a Cesar salad which was just OK. One order of Vegetarian lasagna was good. The order of garganellina pasta with beef short ribs and mushrooms was also tasty. Bottle of red at $45, the cheapest on the menu was overpriced. Passed on dessert. Service by the wait staff was good without being overbearing. Overall we thought it overpriced for what was provided.

Plain restaurant not a picture on any walls. Service was very slow and not very pleasant. Waited along time for our salads and main meals. I had the Canalloni pasta it was hot had some over powering spice in it and the pasta was not cooked enough it was tuff. Two small pieces cost twenty three dollars my husband had gnocchi it was over cooked and mushy. He's Italian and knows his pasta. We were there with another couple and there meals were not very good either. We did say so etching about the gnocchi and they took it off the bill. The waitress did not come back to our table after the meals were served until we were done. Poor service and food would not recommend this restaurant at all . The prices are very high and not worth it at all small portions too
