My family has stayed here many times on our way in and out of BC. Generally good value for money but at prime cruise time in August then prices are high - more that $200 a night if you don't book well in advance. It is a popular hotel so book ahead.

Location is close to airport, kind of industrial/sketchy area. You don't want to park a nice car on the street here. So parking in hotel garage would be an upgrade - if the security system was working...
Decent bed. Staff had no idea where to eat in the area at 9pm. Really? You never get that question? It's only a couple of minutes by car (you know I have one, I just talked to you about parking!) to a much better selection of restaurants, and you suggest Subway and Burger King?
Thanks (not) much.
Skipped the return night here, went to the Days Inn Airport, instead.

Dear David P,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. It is unfortunate the staff service prevented you from fully enjoying your time at the hotel. We are confident the necessary adjustments will be made, in order to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

As an IHG gold member I generaly stick to the Full service Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands because I like to have a restaraunt and lounge on site but I can say that this H.I. express property impressed me. They have a secure gated parking lot and an excellant staff that bent over backwards to insure our stay was a pleasant one.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well furnished with a very comfortable bed and high quality pillows plus the usual Holiday inn bathroom ammenitys.

The front desk staff recomended a fabulous steak and seafood restaraunt a few minuets away called "the boathouse" which was excellant, they even gave us a coupon for a free desert.

I still prefer a full service hotel but this "express" brand property was as good as they get and highly recomended if in the area. - Enjoy

Stayed here the night before our cruise. Comfortable bed. Soft and firm pillows (important to hubby and me). No fridge, no microwave, if that's important to you. Great breakfast: eggs, even though instant, were cooked perfectly; pretty cool automatic pancake maker! Ate supper the night before at the Abercorn Inn across the street. Food only fair, service not even that good, but had decent entertainment.

I booked "stay, park, fly" arrangement for one night's sleep and one week of parking for $149.00 plus tax. I was greeted by intelligent, friendly staff and directed to a very secure, fenced and gated parking lot. The room was clean, spacious and equipped with a nice big flat screen t.v., internet access, comfy bed, and ample work space. Costco is across the street. The hotel offers a fine self serve breakfast...eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, pancakes and more. Get your coffee at Starbucks. Good location to airport...timely shuttle.

We had a 1am arrival from the airport to this property. The shuttle from the airport was timely and a welcome sight at this time of day. The room was clean and quiet. This was a plus because the freeway ran nearby. The morning breakfast was tasty. They had a good selection of foods and even had a "make your own pancake machine". Not much to walk to from this location. It's a go place if you need an airport location. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

For this reviewer, an airport hotel is generally not my choice for a vacation base, but it serves a particular purpose for accommodating late night or early morning flights or layovers. Given these parameters, the HIE at YVR served its purpose well. A timely shuttle outside the arrivals area was the first step to a speedy check-in. I appreciated the security of having to use my room key to access the elevator. The room was clean and nicely appointed. Most important, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. I liked the toiletries from Bath and Body Works. Breakfast buffet had something for everyone with both hot and cold selections. The hotel is located next door to Costco so wasn't surprised that Kirkland brand giant cinnamon rolls were served (and they were delicious). If Vancouver wasn't a wonderfully walkable city, I would consider staying here for an entire vacation.

Suzyqmalamute,

Thank you for taking the time to detail your recent stay with our hotel. I am very pleased to read you noticed the extra care, and pride, our team take in maintaining our hotel. Our new shuttle service, which began during your stay, has been warmly received yet leaving our guests very cool during these hot days with the air conditioning. The cinnamon buns are a signature of all Holiday Inn Express and are not from Costco. They are very good and available at any of IHG's Holiday Inn Express hotels. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to the Vancouver/Richmond area.
