The location was excellent as it was near lots of restaurants on St Edwards Dr. There was an attached restaurant which we didn't try out as there were many other options in the vicinity. We had a car so didn't make use of the free shuttle or the SkyTrain but I'm sure we would have if we didn't. The room had a mini-fridge and a microwave, which was a nice touch. The wi-fi internet was speedy and everything was working well. The beds were comfy, so I really couldn't find any fault. It was really quiet too, which was a nice surprise, even though it was a weekend. Also, remember to book online as you get a better rate rather than calling in.

Sorry about the late posting of this hotel. Totally slipped my mind/ My wife and I travelled to Vancouver Aug 1 - 4/10 to visit our son. This was my second time at the hotel, my wifes first. We had booked everything(flight, car, hotel) with our TA. Surprised to find rate at hotel much lower than posted on website. If your 55 or older ask for the seniors rate. Yes I said 55 for seniors rate. Check-in smooth as it was in Feb when I was there. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Different than last time as they were not as busy. Room was OK, just what you'd expect from a Travelodge close to airport. My better half liked the fact that we were only 5 mins by car to the Sky Train. Next time we won't spent the extra on a vehicle. We could get everywhere we needed to go via the train and for cheap. Room was clean with all the pertinent ammenities. We lucked out as we ended up with a small microwave in our room, however we weren't in room enough to use it. Cleaning staff absolutly fantastic. Went over and above. Very friendly. Restuarant much the same as in Feb. Food OK, service lacking. Waited 1 morning 15 mins for the waitress to come to our table. Busy you might ask. Nope maybe 5 people in entire restuarant. This was at 9 am. Didn't eat lunch or dinner there. Check-out again painless. Liked the fact that theres a shuttle to the airpoert but as I said we had a car so didn't use it, but nice touch. Would We stay there again, most definitly. Good Value for money.

This was an excellent hotel for the price we paid. It is situated just 6 blocks from the Sky train into Vancouver ( the ticket from Van includes the bus which stops outside).
A free shuttle service goes into the airport and we were granted a long stay as our plane did not leave until 5 pm. Staff were very friendly and professional and we were very pleased with the large room we were given.
The food in the restaurant was good with plenty of choice and the bar was friendly and large. We stayed 2 nights and will make this hotel our regular stop when returniong to the UK from vancouver.

We'd been to Travelodge several years ago, but the service had been terrible. the front desk had lacked a first aide kit (for my sister who'd fallen in the parking lot), insisting instead that we either buy band-aides from the vending machine (that wasn't there this time), or going down the road to a drug store. After ranting and rallying, however, it turned out they indeed had a first aide kit, with all of 5 or 6 knuckle-shaped band-aides.
Initially, we hadn't planned to EVER return, but when we found a deal on travelzoo (advertising $200+ rooms for only $89) we decided to try it again. We arrived apprehensively, but were surprised when the new front desk clerk, Paul, was FANTASTIC.
He actually read our special requests (no first or second floor, not by elevators) and then asked if we needed a microwave or fridge. He told us that the rooms on the higher floors (he said the 10th) did not have fridges or microwaves since they'd recently been renovated. He apologized that only the 2nd floor would be available if we needed those amenities. We replied that we only needed a fridge (my sister wanted to buy Dragon Beard Candy from the Richmond Night Market), so he found us a room on the 8th floor. With a fridge but not a microwave.
The room was ok. It seemed to have less counter space then regular rooms (only a computer desk and the top of the T.V. cabinet with a seemingly awkward gap between them). The washroom was alright, relatively average for a hotel bathroom, the only complaint being a lack of conditioner (with a family of three girls, all with long hair, that was a problem). The soap was also bar soap and not shower gel, not a huge problem, but still worth noting.
A few nights into our stay, we met George, also a very very nice front desk clerk (pretty much as accommodating as Paul, actually, they're both probably the best front desk people I've ever met - and according to my 'cities i've visited' app on facebook, I've been to 79 cities, maybe 1/3 of which I've stayed at hotels).
The housekeeper also kept giving us only 3 sets of towels (we were a party of 4), but as soon as we told her, she was sure to fix the problem, and after that we always got 4 sets.
I think that's all that's worth noting.... be sure to go to Hot Pot One in Aberdeen Centre, as well as Tofu Excellence (or something like that) in the little strip mall across from the underground parking entrance for Aberdeen!

The hotel was great. We were the first guests to stay in a newly refurbished room. The room was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was exceptionally helpful regarding directions and sightseeing planning. There was a free shuttle bus to/from the airport. The hotel is approximately 6 blocks from the Sky Train which takes you to downtown Vancouver (approximately 15 minute train ride - $3.75 fare). The shuttle bus driver dropped us off at the Sky Train stop and we were able to take a bus back. The sky train drops you off 1 and 1/2 blocks from Canada Place (Cruise Terminal) so you can take the Sky Train to your cruise ship and save money on the transfers to the cruise ship ($12.50 to $50.00 per person).
