“Convenient location”

Stayed at the hotel for one night both before and after a tour to the Canadian Rockies. Very nice location. Close to so many good restaurants (one of them opens 24/7) so you can skip the McDonald's nearby. Walking distance to Scotia Bank office to get some Canadian Dollars (they partner with BOA). Free shuttle to the airport. Free wifi.

If you like Chinese food, this hotel is located in Richmond near a ton of good restaurants. Additionally, it is near the vancouver airport which makes it very convenient. Hotel recently renovated. It is quite nice.

We stayed one night at the Four Points after a 7-day cruise to Alaska and before taking our flight back home. We found it was a great way to end a great trip. Since we had already stayed and explored downtown Vancouver prior to the cruise, we thought it would be nice idea to be close to the airport and experience some of the ethnic side of Vancouver (well, technically this is Richmond, but it is close enough) since this is as much part of this region as is the more touristic attractions near downtown.

So I am giving 5 stars basically for two reasons. One, the hotel is very nice, clean, comfortable, and if it is not brand new, it certainly feels like it. The rooms are quite spacious, with comfortable beds, well appointed furnishings (almost to the point of luxurious), and a large, spotless bathroom (shower only, but a tube is not really necessary). The only minus I can think is that the shower head could use some more pressure, but it was adequate.

Second, the location is great, not only because it is near the airport, but also because it is in the middle of the large Asian community (mostly Chinese) that lives in Richmond. For us, it basically translates in large amount of Asian dining choices and shops. And that particular stretch of Alexandra Rd and surroundings feels pretty safe for a nice after dinner stroll.

Still on the theme of location, the hotel is relatively close to the skytrain, which makes a convenient commute to downtown Vancouver and the Canada Place (the place where the cruises dock). The skytrain will take you downtown in about 30 minutes. We actually took a cab from Canada place to the hotel (we had kids and luggage), and it actually took longer (traffic) and cost about $40.

On a final note, we did not make the four points as our base for exploring Vancouver, although it would not be a bad choice, given its proximity to the skytrain. We were able to find a decent hotel with good rate in downtown Vancouver, and we thought it was actually a better choice - proximity to most attractions, more of a Vancouver vibe. Having said that, the four points provides more bang for the buck, and we thought it was a good end to a nice vacation.

we chose the hotel the night before we had out for our international journey - though we have been only few fourpoint hotels in the world, but this is certainly one of the best we had stayed in - the staff were superb- we were greeted by the night manager Roy, upon checking in at near midnight - he immediately made us feeling at home. the room was spacious and clean, the bedding was surprisingly nice- nicer than lost of westin/sheraton's we had stayed in north american. needless to say, the location was superb for foodies - it's right in the middle of new china town, ie most of the restaurant opened till 2-3am. On the day we checked out- we were warmly greeted by day time staff, Jason was super nice and helpful - and our overall stay was great and we will definitely be back.

OK, so having never been to Vancouver or the western part of Canada before, I had no idea what section "Richmond" was with respect to the larger Vancouver area. I reserved with SPG points, so it was sort of free. And close to the airport. What a surprise to arrive in the middle of the night to find the rental car counters closed. Boo. We took a taxi to this hotel but should have waited for the free hotel shuttle. Did not know. Our room was ready and waiting for us, giving us a comfortable respite from our long and delayed Delta flight from JFK. We had a top floor room as requested. Fluffy bedding and so quiet. But we were the only non-Asians in the hotel!! Apparently, many Asians, especially Chinese, settled this area years ago and it remains a top draw for Asian visitors as well. No worries -- amazing restaurant choices within walking distance!! Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc. You name it, they have it if it is Asian. The hotel's restaurant can't compete and hardly any customers. No room service (when we visited). $10 a day for parking. You'll understand why around dinner time. A very popular spot for dinner. For our purposes, it was a pleasant interlude before our cross-Canada drive to the Rockies. If we had looked to really experience Vancouver this would have been a bad selection.

We arrived late but check in was easy. Room was clean and bed was comfortable with wonderful sheets and duvet. Only down side was the breakfast room had very limited menu with lots of Asian choices but not so much American cuisine. I would stay there again as staff was friendly, helpful and location was close to airport.

We arrived late at night and the area was like in the middle of Chinatown. Lots of activities at night, from restaurants to people walking around the area. You will have to pay $10 for overnight parking in their lot. Or you can park on the street right outside the hotel. Your call. I didn't know about the parking fee. The staff did not recognize me as an SPG member. I had two connected room and they were clean and roomy. Bathroom was spacious with modern standing shower. One tip, if you decide to have breakfast in Chinatown, exchange your money ahead of time since they are CASH ONLY. I was charged $100 for $95 Canadian. The hotel will exchange 1:1 ratio for you. Bank exchange rate was $95 for $100 Canadian dollars. I would come back here for the value received.
