redeemed starwood points for free stay; stayed for two nights; be cautioned: when i tried to book two nights in same reservation then website wanted to deduct more points than when i booked two nights separately, one night at a time

pros: nice, new hotel; very friendly, helpful, courteous front desk staff [which is so rare to find these days]; gave me complimentary upgrade to corner suite with jacuzzi [not that i used it]; large bathroom; excellent bed; restaurant in hotel, not inexpensive but not ungodly charges either

cons: not very close to downtown vancouver but i had rental car

Checked-in around 1pm, was given a regular room on 2nd floor, even though the sticker inside the key packet says "You've been upgraded". My nose was a bit stuffy due to the allergy, so I didn't notice the smoky smell until I came back from lunch (I reserved a non-smoking). Decided to let it go since I've already unpacked & it's only a 1 night stay.

We stayed at this hotel prior to a flight out of Vancouver. The location near the airport was perfect; however, it is in an area that is all korean and the restaurants are of that fare. ... even in the hotel.

If you do not have a car and are not loving that fare - there is a
Mcdonalds nearby too. The room was perfect and although the sheets were not a high thread count .. the bed was comfortable. Would definately stay there again.

I stayed at the Four Points for one night on a stopover in March 2007. I chose this hotel because of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and also because they have a 24 hr shuttle to the airport (many hotels have shuttles but only run during the day).
I called the hotel when I arrived at the airport and they immediately radioed the driver of the shuttle to find out how long it would take the shuttle to get to me. It took the shuttle about 5 mins to come pick me up and it was about a 10 min ride to the hotel. The shuttle driver was very friendly and pleasant.
Check-in was easy and quick and they arranged a wakeup call for me and return shuttle trip to the airport for me right there. My room was very comfortable with two double beds with lots of pillows. The bathroom was well stocked with lots of goodies. One bonus is the 30 mins free internet access in the business area of the hotel. There is only one computer available for use, but no one was using it when I wanted it, so it was no problem.
The location of the hotel is right in the middle of an area of restaurants and stores (mostly Chinese). It might not be the best location for exploring Vancouver, but it was a great place to stay for a stopover through the Vancouver airport. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel and I would not hesitate to stay here again!

For a hotel in its category, this place is outstanding. The rooms, beds, and bathrooms are what you would expect from a more upscale brand (Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton). The service was exceptionally friendly, including the shuttle drivers.

As for the location, it is... exotic. This hotel is plunked by itself in the middle of "new" Chinatown. (Vancouver's classic Chinatown, in the city, has become a bad neighborhood apparently.) Leave the hotel, and you may as well be in Beijing. Our stay was on a Saturday night (returning from 8 nights at the Westin Whistler), and we had to walk into five different Chinese restaurants before we found one that would seat us (or acknowledge us). No one spoke English. The food was not what you get at a Chinese restaurant in the United States (even in New York's Chinatown), and while it was no doubt more authentic, I didn't love it. None of which is to complain; it was just a different experience than I bargained for.

In any event, the hotel was lovely.

We only chose to stay here because it was cheap and near the airport (our flight was arriving very late at night). It turned out to be one of the best (if not THE best) hotel I have ever stayed in. While the rooms weren't luxurious, the bed was THE most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The staff was the best. I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It's in a China town area where there are excellent Asian restuarants open 24 hours. We loved it!!!!!!

My wife and I were very happy here. Nice things I remember about our stay: being picked up by the airport shuttle in exactly fifteen minutes (just as the lobby staff promised), a desinger's touch in outfitting the very comfy king-sized bed (mattress is still heavenly in late 2006 with bolsters, fluffy down pillows, and body-pillow-sized shams), a truly vast Asian restaurant selection in every direction outside this hotel, some specifically excellent Chinese seafood restaurant suggestions by other reviewers were spot on! Sun Sui Wah Seafood, 4949 No. 3 Road for an expensive but exotic menu or the more reasonable and bigger food portions of Thyme Court Seafood, 8111 Leslie Road (formerly Chen's Shanghai Rest.), both within a one and two block walk respectively (ask at front desk for a free mapsheet of the local area), a quiet room despite hotel being located quite near the 2nd busiest aiport in Canada, a responsive digital theremostat to control the room temperature, immacualte tiles and carpets, Moen bathroom fixtures, closet hangers that are actually removable from the closet bar to hang elsewhere in the room if needed (Note: the hook is much much smaller than usual, the hanger bar is very thin, seems to be a clever theft deterrent since you could never hang this hook into any closet bar at home!), high-speed internet included, exceptional front desk staff, an ACTUAL 24 hour complimentary shuttle to and from airport (other hotels claim to be 24 hours but decline a 3:30 AM start and are unable get you picked up before 6 AM), a smooth and accurate online booking/reservation system, some very accurate webpage photos and accomodation details there, some easily found fluffy towels in the pool area with a cute over-sized wicker basket to toss them into when finished, loungy chairs to sit on while waiting for elevator... and many other little touches along the way that show this hotel obviously has someone on staff who is looking out for ways to make this hotel's comfort level stand out in your memory. Everything was ideal for an evening's retreat, except for the disco music wafting up through the vents from the bar on the ground floor... and I was staying on the top floor (6th floor). The only other concerns were the miniscule closet and the water in the pool was just way too cold (the spa was the perfect temperature though). One pet peeve I have with many hotels, andsady this one too, is that the towel racks are often installed directly above the toilet, so when you hang your towels to dry after a shower they hang down low enough to be whacked with a toilet seat or possibly slip off and fall onto the bowl area, eeww. Paid CAD$ 117.00+taxes in the peak Christmas season (Dec 21-22) for a standard king room which was labelled "handicap-friendly" with rails all over the bathroom, lowered light switches, wider pathways, etc. I will be recommending this hotel for some time.
