“Fantastic service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

I was lucky enough to get into the last room available for government rates in Richmond. I caught a complementary shuttle to the hotel from the airport. At the hotel, the staff at the front desk were polite and helpful, including suggesting that their hotel shuttle would give me a ride to work in the morning (it is less than 5 km away). The room was very clean and although the room was in a corner, I did not hear any traffic. The Internet was easy to connect to wirelessly and they are supposed to have a fibre optic connection in the rooms.

I wasn't able to use any of the other facilities, and I missed having breakfast in the restaurant as I had to leave to early in the morning (breakfast starts at 6:30) but I have eaten at the Fog and Suds on previous visits and it is great.

My bill was slipped under the door on my last morning before I left toke up that morning. As there were no changes, I didn't have to go to the front desk when leaving. All in all, a great stay.

Room Tip: The room on the second floor was very quite.

Stayed 2 nights at the Hotel with a group of 50 kids and chaperones. Check in was smooth - and fast. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The drain in my shower wasn't draining very fast and I mentioned that on the first day - by that evening they had fixed that. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive in its offerings and if you like instant eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, pastries, cereals, oatmeal and coffee tea or juices - you are in good luck. Oh and hard boiled eggs, yogurt, apples and bananas! Staff was courteous and friendly.
PS - don't get a room by the ice machine...

Room Tip: No pool or spa! don't get a room by the ice machine...

Located close to Vancouver International Airport, restaurant on site, with room service available. EXTREMELY welcoming front desk staff a definite plus! Parking is very limited so I would advise booking (and paying the extra fee) in advance. Parking is secured but arranged in a slightly awkward fashion inasmuch as one must carry luggage down one flight of stairs to get to lobby elevator. Room was clean and comfortable.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. We chose to stay here because it was close to the people we were visiting. Though this property is off a busy road and next to a Mini car dealership, the room was quiet and comfortable. We were located on the second floor, across from the gym which also had a coin-operated washer and dryer. There are two levels of parking available, and though very narrow, there were always spots available. One negative was that this hotel does not have their own cafe/restaurant. We were given a "free" breakfast at the Fogg and Suds restaurant next door (coupon for either 1 eggs and sausage breakfast, or $10 off the bill). We chose to have $10 off our bill. When it was time to pay, I noticed that the restaurant had charged us $10 hotel service charge before discounting the $10 from the coupon we were given. So in fact we didn't receive any discount while being enticed to eat at this restaurant.

Dear LooseFruit,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. We're happy to hear that our location worked well for your needs. Our guests often find that as we're situated near different major highways and the Vancouver Airport, that we are central to many different areas.

I am a little surprised to hear about the charges to your room from the attached restaurant. It may be a case of an error posting. When convenient, if you could please contact me (service@hiyvr.com) with your reservation details and I will be more than happy to look into this for you.

Best Regards,

Adam McDowell

Once again, the stay and meeting were beyond description. Friendly staff from the hotel managers, the meeting room coordinators, restaurant staff to the new airport shuttle bus driver. I look forward to my next visit to my Vancouver "home"

Room Tip: I personally like the corner rooms on the upper floors. Away from the elevators and thus less "...

This Holiday Inn surpassed all expectations. From the courtesy shuttle which picked us up at the airport to the service offered at the front desk, we were most impressed. Our room was comfortable, clean, well-appointed with comfortable furniture, and the bathroom was quite roomy. There were plenty of restaurants and eateries in a few blocks' area, but our choice due to weariness from a cross-country flight with 2 layovers was the one attached to the hotel. We could not have chosen better. Convenience, great food and beverage, and a very attentive and pleasant staff. Breakfast before going to the port was easily handled by the McD's right across the street. The front desk arranged for our cab after letting us know the various options and cost to travel to the port. It was a wonderful way to start our vacation, and the opportunity to see Vancouver on the way to the port encouraged us to consider another visit.

Room Tip: We had very little noise in a corner room on an upper floor; in addition, you can control the temper...

Dear Roberta G,

We're glad that you chose to include us as part of your holidays. We do have many guests staying at our hotel throughout the year that are coming and going from the cruise terminal in Vancouver, and our goal is to make the transition as easy as possible. If you'll be returning for a cruise in the future, remember to ask us about our cruise package!

We hope that you enjoy the rest of your vacation and look forward to your next stay with us!

Best Regards,

We stayed here after our cruise ship ported in Vancouver. The staff was excellent. Devin came out and help several folks print down boarding passes as all of us were having trouble with accessing airlines with hotel computer. We were directed to several restaurants to have lunch and for the evening, the staff called and ordered our food from a restaurant that delivered.
We had very nice rooms and stay was quiet and very pleasant.
My wife was very pleased to actually see an A/C unit that worked like it should without the fan running all the time.
Great job folks.
I wished we had time to eat breakfast, but we had a 6:15 time to catch shuttle to the airport.

Room Tip: We were on the 7th floor and all was good.
