LIKES
- close to Richmond. Could walk to Richmond Night Mkt in 25 mins
- Clean modern rooms (quartz countertops and nice showerheads)
- comfy king size bed
- fridge inside room
- good soundproof glass windows as u cannot hear the planes flying into yvr

DISLIKES
- asked for a crib for our 1 yr old. We got a playpen instead and the "mattress" was two bedsheets. I requested a few more bedsheets and im glad i brought my own cribsheets. The playpen looked old. I wiped it down a few times with antibacterial wipes

- the $17 parking charge for rental car per day

Stayed here for one night after arriving from the UK. Shuttle from the airport was great. Our rate was room only, and when we arrived we were offered the upgrade to a king room and use of the lounge (including continental breakfast), for $40. Would recommend this - the lounge was very pleasant and quiet, overlooking the river, and meant we could get juice, bottled water, coffee, fruit etc whenever we liked. Breakfast was also very nice.

The pool was also great, heated to a really pleasant temperature so even later in the evening it was pleasant to swim for a good length of time (great jet lag buster).

Only downside was the size of the room - we had a rollaway bed for our son, and this made it a little cramped, but for one night it was absolutely fine.

Although it's not right beside the airport, the frequent hotel shuttle means this isn't an issue. It's also great for getting into Vancouver city centre as the hotel shuttle bus stops right beside the sky train station at the airport. Friendly bus drivers. Externally, the hotel looks a bit dated but it is what it is and, inside, our room and bathroom were nicely decorated and modern. Our particular room had a great view over the Fraser River. We ate at the hotel's Pier 39 restaurant - good food, good service. Overall, a relaxing place to stay before our flight out of Vancouver.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river rather than the car park.

This is a good and comfortable place to stay. Clean rooms. It's not super modern, a bit dark in places, but nothing that's really bothersome. Plus I read somewhere that they're going to update this hotel Free shuttle to/from the airport every 20 mins.

Dear Travelledalot25

Thank you for your post. Yes it is true that our landscaping project is underway and the pictures can be seen on our Facebook page. The new living wall is a great addition to our hotel and the new marina will be in place for earlier 2015 as well as many more updates. Stay tuned.

Literally hide your husbands and kids. I asked my husband to grab something from the car and right when he stepped out of the elevator, an prositute step in and said "excuse me excuse me, you wanna go to level 9 with me?"...... I don't know what the reciptionist is thinking they keep on telling us that you need a key to go upstairs.... No you don't! You need a key to get into your room that's all the security the have here. The valet parking, no one is ever there to take your keys and give you a tag. It was such a hassle that we canceled our valet parking and just parked in the lot. There's no fridge in the room unless you ask for it then they will bring it to you. What a hassle.. If they're going to bring it up why not just have it in the room already? No safe. The Washroom is tiny.

Dear Traveler403Xo

Please accept my apologies for the situation that your family encountered while a guest at our hotel. That is not the experience we want any guest to have while staying with us. Also, for guests safety and security the elevators are key card controlled so you must have a key to use the elevators.

I would like to apologize for the experience you had as the lack of service is not indicative of the customer experience our team takes great pride in delivering on. I hope you give us a second chance as I assure you your stay will live up to both yours and mine expectations.

Room Tip: wifi is not very stable in the room. try the rooms facing the water

We were thankful for the free shuttle from airport. Room clean and very comfortable beds - great pillows! We took advantage of the community shuttle to explore shopping and restaurants in Richmond. We also used the airport shuttle to access the sky train from the airport to get to waterfront and seabus. Really made getting around easy. We only tried breakfast a la carte - loved the jump start porridge with berries and banana bread, and healthy start yoghurt with granola and berries. Would definitely return to this hotel
