Beautiful walking and picnic beach just pull up agains a log and make yourself comfortable.Public parking and toilets available. Great spot to watch the take off and landings at the airport you can see off in the distance. For the more adventurous walkers there a great walk out into the water along the jetty. Fabulous views of the north shore mountains
Later in the evening watch the sun go down over the water.

This is a bit of an isolated area so its pretty quiet. It really doesn't get over crowded like some of the common beaches do in Vancouver. There's are 2 nice beach areas, a jetty that you can walk out on with nice views and a off-leash dog park up the road. There are no food vendors so bring your own food and water but there are clean bathrooms. Lots of photo opportunities here and you can make it a relaxing afternoon.

10 of us went on a blustery walk out on the Iona park breakwall. The sun came out to welcome us, the wind was whipping up the waves. Eagles and Herons all around. 45min up and 45min back. Felt like a Tofino storm watch without the ferry ride. Will go again, maybe with my bike on the bike trail.

Between the wildlife (particularly the birds!), the opportunities for long walks, the exotic airliners from far-flung locales, and the beautiful views, this is one of our favorite places to be in Vancouver.
