This is a great park in the south west corner of Richmond. There is something for everyone to do. There are great walking/biking paths, there are many benches to sit and relax, there is a rocky beach, there is large open grassy areas for picnics, playing frizbee or flying a kite! It over looks the river and you can watch boats and people coming and going. The local mountains provide a gorgeous backdrop. There is also one of the best fish and chips spots in Richmond located just outside the park. It is a little piece of heaven in Richmond.

This is a beautiful little park. There are always people flying kites and people on the beaches, sometimes BBQing and having picnics. It's a lovely little area to go for a stroll and enjoy both the water and the mountain views. The only issues at this park is parking if you happen to be going on a weekend or when it's very nice out.

Right on the water, this is a beautiful park for a stroll or just to sit. Lots of kite flying and excellent fish and chips at Pajo's.

I've come down here to fish when there is a salmon run. It is a good place to go for a walk. It is windy and a lot of people fly kites down here.

I walk here often - it's a perfect place to clear my mind and enjoy spectacular views of the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island. White ferries ply their way to Nanaimo in the distance; tugs strain up and down the river pulling barges full of sawdust, and apartment sized car ferries from Japan and Korea pass by with yellow pilot boats guiding them. Got a kite? Bring it! There are no trees or power lines to tangle your lines. Got a kite-board or kite-cart! Perfect! Want to throw a stick into the water for your dog to fetch? This is it. There is always a bit of a breeze, so even on a hot day it's a good choice. You can't swim in the water - the currents are powerful and unpredictable. The days of beach-fires are over, sadly, but there are picnic tables, and you can set up a propane barbecue. Kids build forts with driftwood, and older kids head out to the point around sunset for their own parties. I have walked here in the rain, snow, wind and sun. It is always, always beautiful. There are often groups of people standing on the beach watching the sun rise, and all summer long, folks gather at the point watching the sun set again. In the summer there are drummers or musicians sometimes.
