We showed up for late lunch ( just around 1:30 pm) and although there were two staff at the front (looking over receipts, etc.) we were not acknowledged and made to wait over five minutes for a table which were plentiful. We were seated at the very back of the restaurant.. okay and then made to wait a lengthy time before our orders were taken. We just picked the combo boxes, asst, and I choose just a standard lunch box with california rolls, teriyaki chicken, tempura, salad, miso soup and sunomono salad. We found the portions, for the lunch boxes, exceptionaly small (3 pieces of tempura, and three lonely pieces of teriyaki chicken with not much sauce and the sunomono salad was a little spec on the plate, etc. . The sashimi that others had was said good. My california rolls were okay.. nothing special. As we were eating they came around saying it was "last call" to order anything else before end of lunch.. so I guess they were closing down in between lunch and dinner crowd. Nothing exceptional.. perhaps it was our timing, but I have found other Japanese restaurants in Richmond with better food and service.
