“Pinnacle on the Pier great for business traveller”
Reviewed 26 October 2011

I have been a regular guest at the Pinnacle on the North Shore for over a year now. I often travel to North Vancouver for business and was so glad when the Pinnacle opened up. I had previously been staying at a chain hotel on the North Shore off and on for 8 years. The Pinnacle is clean, comfortable and modern. It is also in a great location - shopping at the Lonsdale Quay. One can easily jump on the Sea Bus and be in downtown Vancouver within minutes. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel for business travel OR vacation.

Room Tip: All the rooms that I have stayed have been equally clean and comfortable. On a sunny day I would hi...

My husband & I have stayed on two ocassions @ the Pinnacle & this property has the best value & location for your dollar! With easy access to the seabus you can be downtown in 15 minutes. If you are driving, underground parking and easy drive to Stanley Park. The rooms are modern, cosy & have the best beds ever!

With your choice of a city or harbour view (our favorite) where you have your own breathtaking view of downtown and the ship traffic from your own balcony! The Lobby Restaurant was excellent for breakfast & the lounge offers a good selection of wines & cocktails.

You are in luck if you have a pet! The Pinnacle Pet Hotel is also open for service. Our dog had her own dog bowl provided as well as a bed! And shhh don't tell any one...if you stop by the front desk your dog will get a treat from the amazing staff!

Their website is easy to navigate & very informative with property photos & list of ammenties. And while you're there? Just go ahead and book, you won't be disappointed!

I've stayed at this first rate property about half a dozen times in the past year (when visiting from Whistler), and every stay has been perfectly delightful. The rooms are deluxe, well-appointed, with the comfiest of beds. The Lobby Restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced, with top-notch service. The location is ideal, steps from Lonsdale Quay and the Sea Bus, with many good restaurants and conveniences nearby. Add a great indoor pool and gym, and you couldn't ask for much more. They always have a way of making you feel so welcome. It's no wonder it's become my favourite place to stay for city jaunts, or whenever I feel the need of a little pampering. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at the Pinnacle while we were in Vancouver visiting family for Thanksgiving. The hotel is beautiful, and the view is breathtaking. I would recommend getting an ocean view room. It is well worth it. It was a bonus to be able to enjoy the view while in the shower. The king sized bed was cozy. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast from the hotel restaurant (in bed).

All of the staff members were helpful and friendly. We were pleased to be given a room on the 7th floor. Our room service was speedy. There was a group of drunk people that started a very loud party in the room next to us when they checked in at around 12:30am. I phoned the front desk, and security took care of it right away.

We loved the location of this hotel. We enjoyed the nearby market, and the short SeaBus ride to downtown. In the evening this location is quiet. It was a nice place to settle into at the end of the day.

I would recommend booking your room by phone or online. We decided to walk in and book a room. The price we were quoted as "walk ins" was higher than the current price that was listed online. We also phoned in earlier to see how much it would cost for a room, and this price was lower as well.

We had a lovely stay at the Pinnacle. We visit Vancouver about 6 times a year, and will be staying at this hotel from now on. We are already planning our next trip back.

Room Tip: Choose an Ocean View room. The Mountain View rooms face the street.

Our daughter and son-in-law choose the Pinnacle at the Pier for their wedding and it was an excellent choice. There is a casual elegance about this very well managed hotel. The staff is friendly, responsive and very efficient. Every little glitch in our planning was smoothly taken care of. We hadn’t brought enough vases, several more appeared promptly. Transportation was needed to take the bride and her attendants to their photo shoot – a chat with the front desk and a limo arrived promptly. We used a number of the services recommended by the hotel, including the DJ, and were pleased with all of them. When you have limited knowledge of the area, being able to rely on the hotel’s recommendations certainly makes wedding planning simpler and much less stressful.

The view from the ballroom and the adjoining terrace was quite stunning. The ceremony was held on the terrace under a warm sunny sky. The terrace continued to be used through out the evening as people gathered in small groups to chat, which added to the enjoyment of the occasion. Everything went smoothly. The buffet food was excellent – a number of the guests mentioned it was the best buffet dinner they had ever had. There was an abundance of food. The ballroom was the perfect size for our event with a good size dance floor. We had done much of the planning via email with the banquet manager, Katie Hurley, who was simply a joy to work with. She understood the type of event the bride and groom wanted and organized the room so it felt spacious and comfortable and yet intimate. We were given virtually the entire day to decorate the room – although we didn’t need to do much, as the room is beautiful by itself. We used the time and space to make bouquets and centerpieces with some gorgeous hydrangeas we had gathered from the garden of the groom’s parents.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our group that flew in from various parts of Canada and elsewhere. The skytrain/seabus from the airport was quick and convenient. The Lonsdale Quay market had something for everyone. Coffee shops, take out food, good wine, cheese and bread shops – and even a bit in the way of clothing and other merchandise. Everyone could eat what, and whenever, they wanted without major coordination or compromise. The hotel had wheelchairs which we borrowed to help some of our less mobile guests see more of North Vancouver. The hotel also has bikes for the use of its guests – and two of our group hopped on the seabus one morning and went biking in Stanley Park for a couple of hours. How good is that!

The hotel staff was always accommodating and helpful and made everyone feel very welcome. We didn’t have a chance to eat dinner at the restaurant but did enjoy several brunches and lunches there, as well as numerous drinks and appetizers in the lounge. The food was very good, the portions were generous AND they make a real pot of tea with tea leaves!!!

There are already many reviews on the excellent hotel rooms and amenities so no need to repeat. Several of our guests were upgraded to harbour view rooms and were delighted with that. One family reserved a studio room, and except for the disappointment to us prairie folks that it didn’t have a harbour view, was an excellent choice as it provided ample space for their group of three. The single complaint we heard was a lack of safety bars in the bathtub/shower. This caused some anxiety for two of our guests with mobility issues, although they did comment that the bathtub had a low profile and was not slippery, which was very helpful. We had not thought to ask if the hotel had handicapped rooms. I am guessing that they do. The group rates were excellent and we just wish we could have stayed a bit longer. We’re looking forward to our next opportunity to be a guest at this hotel. It was a lovely experience.

Have stayed three times in the past six months for both business and pleasure. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. The hotel has an unpretentious, relaxed feel, with staff more approachable than in many four or four star hotels I have stayed in. Also, a good selection of wines by the glass in the lounge.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pinnacle Hotel at the end of September and had a great time. The view from our suite was breathtaking and the room was absolutely gorgeous. It's a very clean and modern hotel with great amenities and friendly staff. You couldn't ask for a better location - it's close to downtown Vancouver (a short Seabus ride away) but still offers all of the great sights of North Vancouver, a beautiful city in itself. It was such a treat to go out for dinner at the Lonsdale Quay, take a leisurely stroll along the Pier then return to our room with an incredible view of the Vancouver harbor and skyline.

During our trip to Vancouver we spent two nights at an old favorite in Surrey then figured we'd take a chance on this hotel based on its great TripAdvisor ratings. The Pinnacle Hotel At The Pier exceeded all of our expectations. All other Vancouver hotels are dead to us now - this is everything that a hotel should be and we wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Room Tip: Go with a Harbor View room. The harbor is absolutely breathtaking and worth every penny.
