In Vancouver for 3 days in May for a conference; everyone else was staying downtown, as were we until I stumbled upon the Pinnacle reviews on Tripadvisor. Wow! Were we ever glad we changed!
Overview: We went for a waterfront room with the bed and breakfast special...worth every penny. Room and views were fantastic. Breakfasts were scrumptious. You simply must try the crab cake Benedict at least once...unbelievably rich and flavorful. Never ate dinner there. Did have drinks one night and they were adequate, but then we're cocktail geeks so it takes a lot to rate high in that category.
Room: 720? Or 721? Can't remember the number, but the room will stay in our memories for a long time. Elegantly Zen. Understated tones of grey, chocolate, and plum envelope you in calm the second you walk in. Dreamy mattress. The microwave and fridge are a nice touch too. A perfect haven to retreat to after a hectic day. Great view of the harbor -watching cruise ships sneak in early in the morning, mesmerized by the waterbuses scurrying across the harbor like water bugs, the city and Lion's Gate bridge lit up at night....and the unexpected bonus of our trip, an unobstructed view of the Super Moon.
Staff: In a word - Awesome. From the moment we checked in to the sad moment we had to leave, to a person everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming...going the extra mile with each little request...and all with a smile.
Facilities: hands down the most gorgeous fitness facilities ever. Pretty much the entire 3rd floor is devoted to gym, yoga/Zumba studio (classes are extra), a huge deck with chaise lounges, and the most beautiful (not to mention the largest) hotel pool I've ever seen. Though the quality of the drinks at the Lobby Bar did not match the price, the appetizers were tasty and the bar itself was a great place to sit and people watch. One evening the Hotel hosted a major fundraiser, and my colleagues and I scored window seats in the Bar to watch all "beautiful people" in Vancouver waltz by in their gowns and tuxes...fun!
Neighborhood: The waterbus terminal is about a 3 minute walk away, so you can enjoy all the downtown has to offer without having to deal with all the noise a downtown can dish out in the early morning hours. North Van has a laid-back vibe. Little market up the street to buy basics for the room. There are a couple of great spots for a bite right across the street from the hotel - Burgoo being the stand out. When a restaurant can deliver on both chicken vindaloo and beef bourgogne, and for a decent price, you know you've found something unique. Thirteen blocks up the hill and one block west is Casbah with absolutely delicious Persian food.
Summary: The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is now our go-to hotel when visiting Vancouver. Wouldn't dam of staying anywhere else, and in fact, we're planning our next trip right now.

Decently priced at just under $300 per night including taxes, parking and a harbor-view room. Great location beside the Lonsdale Quay and the sea bus to downtown Vancouver. We have had breakfast, snacks and drinks at the Lobby restaurant.... all very good. Will have to try dinner there next time. I particularly like the room. Unique glass walled bathroom (with blinds for privacy) and lots of windows. The only drawback for us on our last stay was that there was a Saturday evening festival on the pier that went until 1am. I don't think that is a common occurance. Most entertainment seems to be over at 10 but if you think that is something that would bother you, I would just check with the hotel before booking.

Room Tip: Harbour side rooms can have pier entertainment noise as indicated in the review. North facing rooms...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your comments regarding your recent stay and for loving our Hotel. As you have noted there is a free summer concert series taking place out front of our hotel at Shipbuilders Square on Saturday evenings in August. Some fantastic acts are performing and they wrap up just after 10pm. Definitely worth checking out and as the last two weeks have shown there has been minimal disturbance to our Guest experience. As suggested, if staying with us please contact us for information and we would be pleased to provide you with the concert line-up.

We look forward to your return visit and thank you again for your comments.

Stayed here for three nights while exploring Vancouver, and it is a perfect spot in North Vancouver. Our room had a harbor view, which I would recommend. Wi-fi is free, and I commend the hotel for offering this, because it seems like most nice hotels are charging for it these days. Parking is $11 (cd) per day, for self park/in and out. Vancouver is easily accessible via the Sea Bus which departs from the transit terminal that is a short walk from the hotel. The Sea Bus drops off in Vancouver right in the waterfront, downtown and gastown areas. There is a market located outside the hotel with plenty of dining options. Staff was very friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. The hotel has two bikes that guests can borrow.

Room Tip: Go for the harbor view.

Stayed over at the hotel after a work related Christmas dinner with my partner. Check in was prompt, professional and courteous. The lobby is very welcoming with a lounge off to the side and it was nicely decorated for Christmas.
The room (waterfront) was beautiful. The view of the Vancouver skyline was stunning and the room itself was wonderfully appointed, spacious and - if you check out the shower situation - pretty sexy!
Our stay was great: clean and quiet. As the hotel is still quite new everything is in perfect shape. It was a great escape for a night and, though it is only down the street from where we live, I would consider going back again for a "night away" using one of their frequently ocurring specials.

Room Tip: Definitely get a waterfront room!

My partner and I both remarked how the overall experience is similiar to a stay we had at an Inn in Seattle:
- proximity to a bustling weekend harbor market? check!
- view includes watching cruise ship and freighter activity? check!
- ease to access the cruise ship terminal for a pre- or post- cruise stay? check!
- comfortable, spotless room with a French balcony? check!
- access to a large sun deck to enjoy a book/refreshment? check!
- proximity to great restaurants (we really liked "fishworks" in N Van one block away)? check!
- attentive, gracious service? check!
- quality bathroom amenities? check!

There are other attributes we particularly enjoyed:
The seamless transfer from YVR via Canada line, transfer to the Seabus and short walk by the market to the hotel.
The 25m lap pool and excellent gym = terrific workouts.
The "Bed and Breakfast" package includes a discounted breakfast from the menu (I enjoyed the egg white scramble). Definately pre-purchase the package.
The sound-proofing! There was a large wedding taking place at the hotel and from the 7th floor, we did not hear a thing.
In-room Keurig personal coffee maker.
Organic food store with produce half the price of the Quay market is just up from the hotel.
The transit bus to Grouse Mountain from the Seabus terminal. It was a great day on the mountain and our next trip will include the zip line experience there as well (it would be awesome if a package could be purchased from the hotel).
I discovered a great short 7 km jog that I shared with the hotel (ask for the lower level road jog to Cotton Road = you'll be treated to a lookout after a jog along a meandering trail once you cross the Cotton Road bridge).
To top it off, we were also surprised with a personel welcome note from our concierge along with a fruit and cheese/cracker platter in our fridge. What an excellent touch!
Absolutely we will stay here again. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Absolutely go with the harbor view! Otherwise, all rooms are a great bet!

Wonderful Hotel, great staff, Food excellent, Bar is great. Within walking distance of Lonsdale Quay and Ferry shuttle to downtown Vancouver. Grounds are in an old Shipping Yard and they are developing for future shops. Will be similar to Granville Island when finished. A must stay place when commuting to the BC Ferries to Vancouver Island. Stayed there both ways.

Simply lovely. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Can't say enough about this Hotel. A great find.

Room Tip: Requst a view room.

large rooms, excellent service, good food (breakfast).
did not have the chance to try / see the spa
ask for the harbor view - the mountain view is more a 'building across the street' view

we stayed for 3 nights - be careful the taxis don't know the address on ship way

Dear Guest,

We appreciate the sharing of your feed back on your recent experience at the Hotel. I am very to happy hear you enjoyed your stay and your meals in our restaurant. Also, thank you for your comments regarding some of the Taxi drivers knowing how to access the front of the Hotel. To mitigate this issue we have, as of today, just installed two new lit way finding signs providing clear direction to the Hotel. Great feedback!

Thank you again for staying with us.
