“gem tucked away on the waterfront”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

We've stayed on the other side of the Burrard Inlet in Vancouver many times. Necessity had us try this hotel for it's proximity to the Northshore and its venues. Delightful surprise of one of the best south facing views a traveler can have overlooking the harbour and cityscape. This is a newer hotel with amenities one would associate with as much. The staff are helpful and courteous and timely in delivery of requests. The room service menu was strikingly good. Best of all the sounds of silence at night despite being in the heart of a city. Seagulls are all you'll hear while resting. The view takes in all of the busy harbour from Lions Gate Bridge to the seabus, seaplanes and tanker traffic. Highly recommend this hotel for it's location, ambiance and quiet rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbourview room. If there in the summer you may see the English Bay fireworks display fr...

We decided to spend some time on the North Shore rather than staying in downtown Vancouver, and glad we did.

We had a mountain / North Vancouver city view room. The double bed room was a neat design with unique partitions in the bathroom and a window between the bathroom and the main room.

All the fixtures were of high quality and the room had a fridge and microwave. My only regret of the trip was turning down an upgrade for a nominal fee to have a harbour view room which would have looked out over the harbour and the Vancouver skyline.

The area around the hotel was fun to explore as North Vancouver is making great strides in opening up public space along the once industrial waterfront area, while recognizing the areas famous ship building past. So if you are into industrial history and harbours, this hotel is right in the heart of it.

If you want the hustle of Vancouver, hop on the Sea Bus which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel or if you desire to see another view of Vancouver from the North Shore, head over to Ambleside Park (bus / car / taxi) in West Vancouver and walk the sea wall for a different view of Vancouver and the Salish Sea (Georgia Strait).

If your desire is to just stay put, enjoy the restaurants near the hotel and take in the Quay market at the sea bus terminal.

Room Tip: If you can, book a harbour view room and enjoy the Vancouver skyline.

We stayed there this past weekend and found this hotel just fabulous. It was so clean and fresh and QUIET! No hearing others when they are up and about. And no hearing another guest's shower at 5 in the morning. The staff were great too. Very pleasant and efficient. Had a lovely dinner and breakfast in the Lobby restaurant. Will definitely stay here again.

Very nice and modern hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Close to tourist attraction areas. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Only downside is that house keeping lost my wine tasting glass however I was told by the Hotel they will send me a new pair of wine tasting glass for my compensation. Very nice of them.

I will visit Vancouver in September and hopefully we can get a room facing the pier.

This was our second stay at the Pinnacle. Compared to the hotels we have chosen on the downtown Vancouver side, this one is MUCH quieter, and just as easy to get to all Vancouver attractions. The pool and gym are wonderful for families, open from 6am through 10pm. The Lobby Restaurant is good, though a bit pricey for breakfast. The restaurant always seems crowded in the evenings, but there are plenty of restaurants within several blocks of the hotel, so meals outside of the hotel are easy to find. Very close to many attractions and activities. The Lonsdale Quay was a nice surprise on this trip, filled with food stalls and shops to browse. Next time we stay we will choose the water view rooms, and forego the breakfast add-on package.

Room Tip: It seems like the waterview rooms are slightly more spacious, tho the mountain side we chose on this...

We rented the ballroom for a "Celebration of Life". The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were thorough, courteous, respectful and extremely professional. It made the task of planning a very difficult event so much easier. When I was making the table floral arrangements the morning of the event, I needed a few extra flowers and the staff offered to run over to the market and pick them up for me. (I used Margitta's at Lonsdale Quay for the flowers. The two large arrangements I ordered were good, but I must be spoiled by the florist I use in Whistler (Senka), because the flowers didn't last long and I wasn't wowed by the arrangements.)

As for the guest rooms, we had a connecting 1K and 2D room. It had plenty of space for our crowd who gathered after dinner (apologies to our neighbours LOL). Rooms were of a very high standard. Everyone thought that the blinds on the bathtub window were strange. They could be opened and closed from the bedroom side (i.e. not controlled by the person in the bathroom). No complaints about the rooms.

We did not eat in the restaurant, but if is the same kitchen as the catering we had for our function upstairs, you won't be disappointed. We had hot appetizers, sandwiches and the dessert buffet - all were excellent.

Room Tip: Request a high floor water side for the best views. Definitely worth the little extra!

We stayed here one night on our way to the west coast of Vancouver Island. A modern property that is at the foot of Lonsdale and that was a good location for us. The room was good and well maintained, although a little on the small size. The stand out for us were the people from the hotel that we had a chance to meet. The front desk was very helpful on check in and with directions. The people in the bar/restaurant were friendly and engaging. There were several restaurants close by (walking distance) and it was an easy stop after a long flight. We were gone by 9AM the next morning.

Room Tip: Go for a room overlooking the harbour if you can. The extra cost ($20 per night) is worthwhile.
