I booked this hotel during an online promotional period of staying at 2 separate BW and receiving $100 off or similar. I also checked the price and availability of this hotel based on things to do in Vancouver since our family would only have a little over a day to see the best of Vancouver and we wanted to explore Capilano Suspension Bridge park then use the trolley to tour downtown Vancouver. This hotel was a about a mile walking distance from the park. We arrived around Midnight from airport and the hotel was locked with a sign saying "back in 5 minutes", which was more like 10. Since rooms are located outside and having no car, the hotel didn't have a luggage cart just a dolly to wheel our luggage around the corner to the stairs. Another disappointment was no elevator, so had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Our room was simple and clean, no frills. We took time during our stay to go to the supposed "heated" pool (NOT heated) so that was a downer for the children, but having free access to go across the street to the Steve Nash gym was a nice alternative. The restaurant by the lobby was overpriced but convenient. Checking out was simple and the hotel staff friendly and accommodated my need for scissors and stapler while preparing my cruise luggage tags in the lobby. After taking into account the cost of a taxi service, first from the airport to the hotel as there was no shuttle service, cost $55 USD, secondly from downtown back to the hotel after sightseeing $25 and again from hotel to Canada Place with our luggage for cruise $20, totalling $100. In hindsight, it would have been better to use that money towards a downtown hotel not a rental car as traffic was crazy. A week after booking this hotel, I tried to book the second BW stay in Alaska and the promotion was already over and too late to change this booking as it was conditional on prepayment.

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and updated. The price was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful with answering our questions about the area. I also appreciated that they had laundry machines available.

- First the positives - clean, updated decor, very convenient to Downtown Vancouver, good price for this area. Also, it was reasonably quiet even though located near a very busy intersection. - the disappointments - poor WiFi signal, very small room (#235, single queen), the smallest room we've ever had at BW. Then, even though our room entered off an interior hallway, the main exit doors were unlocked, unsecured. Also, very noisy A/C, but room quickly felt stuffy without some air on. Also, the staff weren't very friendly, too officious and abit pushy promoting the BW rewards program. (nor were they rude, though) - would we return - maybe. The best thing about this hotel is it is one short bus ride to/from Downtown Vancouver, which is excellent if we are attending a concert, jazz festival, hockey game or some other event in Vancouver. But the next time we are doing something in Vancouver, we will double check around with the competing hotels that are in the same general location as this one.

good value, clean, efficient and quiet, easy access to North Van and downtown Vancouver. Stayed with family in this hotel; recommend this to families and tourists. Bathrooms are small, front desk staff and restaurant staff were very courteous and helpful. Requested a lower level room and were easily accommodated.

I found the staff to be very helpful in accommodating our 3 family group who were staying for differing # of nights. They even noticed that two reservations were under the same name for subsequent nights & worked to make sure that couple didn't have to switch rooms. The rooms were very clean & the beds were comfortable. No microwave or mini fridge, but there was a coffee maker. We appreciated the laundry faciliites for guests on site. No free breakfast, but restaurant on site & Denny's a short walk away. Wonderful location (with a car) for all the outdoorsy things North Van has to offer. ANd being so close to lion's Gate Bridge meant Stanley Park & downown were close at hand too. Free wifi & free parking a bonus.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms make carrying bags easy. Ask for room near laundry if you want to use that service.
