The rooms were good for the price paid. We were treated very nicely by the front desk, especially the lady in the morning while checking out. The breakfast was amazing. The whole atmosphere created and maintained is really nice!

Terrible value. Old and tired, lobby smells like urine, rooms around pool / road are noisy. Rooms are dated, walls are all scratched and haven't been painted in forever. Furniture is ghetto.

Location is convenient, market and gas station close by.

Check in was friendly.

My spouse selected this property for its proximity to various places we wanted to visit, its Trip Advisor reviews, lower cost relative to competing hotels nearby, and the included breakfast (not offered at others). Canada, and especially areas like Vancouver, is generally more expensive than many US regions for many things even allowing for the Canadian dollar being worth ca. 7-8% less than the American (mid-August 2014), and cost for this Comfort Inn reflected that.

The lobby looked nicely done, desk staff was courteous friendly, and efficient for what we needed.

The location is an older property (perhaps previous other owner) with several motel-style two-level buildings. Access to the rooms is via outside walkways One nice thing is an inner open-air courtyard accessible from the lobby area, with several umbrella tables (including one under cover, with transparent wind-block partial wall), and a small water garden. A pleasant place to have breakfast and afternoon happy hour (discreetly from coffee mugs).

Hotel is located on a main street a few hundred feet from the intersection of a busier commercial street. We were in one of the rear biddings and did not notice any street noises, or noises from adjacent rooms.

We had what I consider an average size room, not old or dingy, clean, odorless, non-smoking, with (2) queen beds, and a bathroom with the toilet, tub/shower, and sink/counter. We usually prefer a single bed for the two of us so we have more room space, but one gets what one can get. Had some minor problems with the toilet seat not staying up (us guys need that, duck tape does a wonderful temp fix), and the bathroom sink stopper that came detached from the drain internal open/close lever (took out stopper, didn't need), but nothing crucial that's not tolerable for a few days. Room had a small air conditioner that initially did not appear to have enough cooling capacity, but on the 3rd day of our stay we came back late afternoon to a much cooler room. Seems that hotel maintenance must have worked on the unit, and it then worked at a higher capacity, kudos to the hotel for doing this unasked.

Room had the usual large flat-screen TV (did not use). There was a separated kitchenette area with a sink, microwave (did not use, though always nice to have), small refrigerator (definitely used for beer/wine/soda/water/food), coffee maker (did not use), a few dishes/coffee mugs (did use), no utensils (we always carry plastic utensils around anyway), and small table with (2) chairs. Some hotels have the bath sink outside the toilet/shower room, a real convenience when there's more than one person, but this kitchenette sink serves nicely for morning stuff in lieu of that setup. Also, it was easier to use this second sink faucet to fill our water bottles and hiking hydration packs. One think of note re the refrigerator is that I overheard the desk clerk tell a prospective guest that only ca. 1/3 third of the rooms have one, and one must ask that that type of room availability is on a first-come basis.

The breakfast area relatively small so can be over-crowded if large groups of people show up all at the same time, as with any hotel. Good breakfast with the usual coffee/drinks, dry cereals, yogurt, fruit, pastries/muffins/bread, waffle maker, hard-boiled eggs, scrabbled eggs, sausage, apples and oranges.

The free WiFi worked easily with our iPad with a consistent connection and speed. Did not use our AT&T cell phones in the room, but the local GSM carrier is Rodgers that showed as our phone signal. Call c costs for us was $1/min for the few short calls we made while in Canada.

Based on our stay, I'd recommend this hotel in North Vancouver.

Room Tip: Request room with refrigerator if you want one.

My daughter and I were going on a cruise to Alaska and stayed two nights at this hotel before the cruise. We were very happy with our stay. The room smelled good and was very clean. It was close to Grouse Mountain and Capilano suspension bridge and Lynn Canyon(we included a picture). We did all three attractions and loved it that the hotel was really close. We booked this hotel 1 year in advance and got a great rate of $ 203.32 with Tax for 2 nights. When we checked in and out we dealt with Monica at the front desk who was professional and helpful and very nice. Branka also works very hard in the dining room and is helpful and is always replenishing the food and drinks. They had yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal and cold cereal, waffles. The breakfast saved us money that we spent on attractions. After two days we dropped the car off at the airport and took the sky train to the pier with no problem. We have travelled alot and stayed in many places and we loved our stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites North Vancouver and would stay here again for sure! Thank-you for making our trip great!

Me, my wife and my almost 2year old son checked into this property back in January 2014 for an overnight stay and were sorely disappointed by the way hotel staff handled an incident involving a collision in their parking lot that caused great damage to our vehicle caused by another guest in the early morning hours while we were asleep. When we awoke the next day we awoke to find our vehicle had suffered extensive damage causing us to be delayed and having to have it towed away thus causing us to rent a car until it was repaired nearly 2 weeks later. Upon discovering the damage in the morning I rushed to the front desk. They already knew what had happened and who we were. I asked as to why we were not alerted and we were told they did not want to bother us at such an early hour. WHAT?? R U serious?? Our car is sitting in the parking lot with it's entire back end laying on the ground and they didn't want to bother us?? The guests who had done the damage to our vehicle left a copy of their drivers license with front desk night audit and left the property while we were asleep. The night auditor did not obtain the guests license plate information which is what ICBC Insurance would have required to create a case to retrieve funds from the guests insurance provider and would have taken the front desk but a moment to get. Frustrated by what had happened, I asked to have the guests phone number and address. When front desk looked at their system they could not provide me with this information because what they had on file for the guest was incomplete and only had a out of service phone number in their system, with no address and no vehicle plate number on file. I work in the hotel industry myself and know that Front Desk is required by law to have the guests home address and vehicle plate number in case of such a circumstance were to occur. This is typically asked for at check in. Nope, no luck there and it wasn't even asked for when front desk had the offending individuals standing in front of them at time of the incident. They had them at the desk and we weren't even alerted at the time even though they knew who we were and what room we were staying in. Our vehicle was heavily damaged.... Why wouldn't we want to know to know this? It is August now and the whole ordeal ended up costing us over $2000.00 in rental and ferry fees back and forth to from Victoria and Vancouver which could have been averted if front desk had done their job in the first place and had requested all the required information from the guest at check in (Required by Law) and or when the incident occurred. Staff seemed apologetic enough and that is nice and all, but that isn't going to get my $2000.00 back.

The location is good and the price was better than hotels in the city center, but it is definitely an older hotel and its age shows. Would have liked to have seen a fridge in the room but there wasn't one in our room. The shower worked, but the drain was slow. This appeared to be fixed after a call to the front desk as we got back after a day out and the problem no longer existed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'm not a fan of hotel rooms that open to the outside, but that's a personal preference. The breakfast area is a bit small and can get crowded. Only 1 waffle maker leads to long wait times if you want waffles. Very close to some of the local attractions and just across the bridge from Stanley Park.
