“Great Walking Trails Through Forest, Pretty Edgemont Village Nearby”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

At the foot of Grouse Mountain, with the dam holding back a pretty lake backed by mountains- glorious view. No development on lake since it is a water reservoir. Great walking trails all around. You can even walk all the way down to the ocean at Park Royal then continue along the Sea Walk that extends along through West Vancouver. 45 minutes to walk down, 1 hour or 1 hour 15 minutes to walk back since it will be uphill on the return. Edgemont Village is 3 minutes away which is really pretty- no Gap or big chain stores, but two blocks with grocery store, sandwich places, library, coffee shops, clothes stores, 32 Books (one of the few independent bookstores left in Vancouver), Tartooful (local artwork and crafts), sushi. Lots of benches to sit. 3183 Edgemont Blvd, North Vancouver on a GPS will get you there. A 2 minute drive or five minute walk past the Village will bring you to Eldon Park with pretty trails through the woods and a duck pond. Across the street from Cleveland Dam is Capilano Heights Chinese Restaurant which has been there for more than 40 years- very good food.

“Better than the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park”
Reviewed 27 July 2013

Less people, gorgeous views, awesome photo opportunities, and a nice spot to enjoy a picnic or walk. Being able to walk out over the dam is really neat, and the lake reflecting the mountains is simply stunning.

A must-visit place if you're up in this area.

An interesting spot and it great to be able to walk out onto the dam itself. It is an easy walk with a nice park. Great for picnics.

Beautiful park with incredible views of mountains and the lake flowing into the dam is stunning when in full flow. Loads to do including photography, scenic views, walking in the fresh air, walk/run the trails, forest, animals nature abound. Great spot to bring kids to run around in a safe environment. Perfect for picnics or playing Frisbee hanging out alone or in a group. Safe.

“Ultimate dam and mountain views...”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

At the start of dam park you get a very very nice scenic view or mountains yeah and that too with no hike, you get down from bus or car, walk in park and you are standing at view....
Dam itself is very forceful and scenic beauty.
There are ample of trails in this park (I think park name is Capilano river bridge park if I am not wrong).
I did smalleer 3 trails of Giant Fir, secondary scenic view and then Prospectus trail totalling around 2km.
at the end of Giant fir trail you get to secondary scenic view trail which leads to a front view of dam between two mountains, view is really a beauty. You can then walk down other trails as per your plans.
I lost my way going back to public transport, thanks a ton to canadian people who are very helpful in nature and shown me right direction...
This park has Saloman hatchery too which would be fun for kids. the area of hatchery is also a scenic beauty and not too far from secondary scenic view trail.
