I have been eating at Yohachi Sushi since it opened (approximately 15 years ago?). Well worth the trip over the bridge from downtown every time.
Get a seat at the bar where the owner and sushi chef, Tak, will keep you entertained and well fed.
There is always a good variety of amazingly fresh and well prepared ingredients but it is Tak's exceptional skills and personality that keep us going back.
Whenever I eat sushi anywhere else I do the cone test to see if the chef can match up to Tak's perfectly crunchy and never chewy seaweed (the oyster cone is a masterpiece), nowhere has ever come close to Tak's, not even Tojo or iron-chef Morimoto.
Newly renovated and the staff are always very friendly and the beer always cold.
