“OK as a stopover”
Reviewed 18 July 2006

Right on the highway, ask for a room at the back as the highway is rather busy 24 hours a day. Newly renovated good sized rooms with really comfortable beds. Pool is small but adequate if your kids are small. Well located for a stopover & easy to get into Vancouver on the train. We used the hotel as a base to get around the area. When we arrived they had not accepted our late internet booking as we're fully booked at the time, but he did manage to get us in & gave us the same rate & upgraded our room. All the staff we met inc maids we're helpful & cheery. Would definately stay again & use the hotel as a base to get into Vancouver & the surround area

My fiance and I recently stayed here for one night. We just needed to get away from the city for a night. It's in a pretty decent location, within 5 minute walking distance to the Braid Skytrain. Also very close to some pubs and other restaurants, Ikea, and casino.

If you don't mind the sound of traffic try to get a room in the front of the building or on the 3rd floor. We were on the second floor in the back which was right at street level. There are no screens on the windows so we felt a little unsafe keeping the window open. The rooms were normal fair for a typical chain hotel. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were recently renovated. The tub was fabulous, very deep but the shower head was atrocious.
We made it near the end of the continental breakfast in the morning, standard selection of carbs.

All in all we got our escape and got exactly what we paid for. We weren't looking for much other than a place to lay our heads for the night so it did the trick. If you're looking for something a bit fancier then look elsewhere. But it's cheaper and in an easily accessible location, and they're pretty friendly too.

My husband and I have stayed at the Chelsea Inn several times over the past year. The last time for one night in November.

The staff is nice and the rooms are clean. The rooms are not all the same (as one can normally expect) but some rooms have wildly superior bathtubs. Deep with a nice tub-back for relaxing against.

The wi-fi here is very good and included at no extra charge.

One of the reasons we have stayed at this hotel is its proximity to the skytrain "Braid" terminal. It's about 1 block away.

There is no restaurant at the hotel so keep that in mind when planning your eating. There is a convenience store about 1 block away as well.
