“Bed bug alert”

Family emergency resulted quick travel arrngements and making hotel reservation without normal due diligence. Relied on the Ramada name - BIG mistake!!! This is an old 2 storey motel on the side of the highway that saw its best days long ago. Very surprised to see the Ramada label attached, but a sign does say it is privately owned and operated. A bit sketchy, but thought room looked Ok - dated, odd counter and sink in tbe room, single pane windows that rattled in the frames. Decided to chek the bed beore I settled in - pulled back sheet and there were live bugs moving. Gross! Left right away. Clerk did not seem surprised when I reported the bed bugs.

One star is too much or this dive.

Found another first class hotel a few bloks west or only $10 more.

These claims that you have made are incorrect and defamatory and we take this very seriously. Not only does this affect our business but putting false accusations affects our staff. We have a contract with a pest control company who come in on a monthly visit. The day you made this claim they were contacted and confirmed that there was absolutely no bed bug activity at our property. We have a letter of authorization to prove this. We suggest that you get your facts straight before posting lies on the TripAdvisor website.

We booked this hotel because it was the only one to allow our family of five to stay in the same room. While the size of the room is remarkable, it is hard to have positive comments otherwise. I suspect this was a great place when it was built, but my goodness, try some renovations. The key card took between 10-12 attempts before we could get in - funny the first time, not so much after. The wifi didn't work, the hide-a-bed is broken, the remotes don't work, the coffee pot doesn't fit together, it appears that someone kicked in the bedroom door and rather than replace it, they filled it in with plaster. Someone (more like ones) have beat the crap out of the outside door that opens onto a very dark back lot. And here is another kicker, the light bulb was burnt out in the lamp in the bedroom. I removed it and set it beside the lamp for the room cleaners to replace. They didn't, so I took it to the front desk to get another one...they didn't have a spare!?! The front desk said it would be done today, guess what? Still no light bulb. The staff in the restaurant are great, but I haven't much good to say about the care we have received at this hotel.

- Typical Ramada, as Ramada's are hit-and-miss.
- This one is not new but is what you expect for that price and that chain.
- Front desk was useful as the magnetic key knob didn't work / unlock well and the clerk came upstairs to try to fix it.Then I had to call again as the TV was stuck on 1 channel.
So they ended up giving me another room but those are 2 basic things that should work without any doubt.

Hi there. The hotel was great but I had a nightmare trying to find because when you search for Ramada Coquitlam it shows up down by the Pit River rd. on Loughheed hwy. Just be warned that isn't thecreal location. Instead, input the address 631 Lougheed hwy and you'll get the right location. I was very confused. It probably cost me the job I applied for because believed the google map and was late for the interview.

My wife and I just finished a 5 night stay at this hotel. This is good value for the money. Rooms kept very clean, friendly staff very good deal. handy to have restaurant attached. Perhaps a few more tv channels would be nice. Hotel is getting a bit aged but it looks like efforts are being done to upgrade. I will be a repeat customer and would recommend this hotel. Was very cheap to book (under $100) which can be hard to find with a pool and hot tub. The room was clean, the service was excellent, and even though it was close to the highway it was still quite quiet.
No overhead lights in the room which was kind of annoying, but thee were enough lamps to light up the room. I liked that our unit had a "front door" and a "back door" so we could go straight out to the street to meet our cab.
All in all a decent stay and I would go back as it was a good price and it had great service.
