“A great place to check out”

A very informative place and the nature walk was beautiful. The view from the Chief's lookout was excellent. We liked the video in the museum area because it showed how proud they are of their heritage.

“Inspiring reminder”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

This cultural centre was a high quality advocate for cultural and environmental awareness. It is informative and well rounded. I really loved the desert walk which expertly paired learning and exercise with an enriching view- not something you get very often!

Hello and thank you for your concise review of the Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre. Our trails tend to have the 'education/fun' factor that we had hoped to convey years ago and through the years we have taught so many people about the desert that we are convinced we are changing minds and hearts! Lim Limpt'! (Thank you)

Wey Lim Limpt'. Hello and thank you for your review. Our osprey has been a yearly visitor since we were open in 2006 and his name is Ospreyoos (a play on words for Osoyoos and Osprey). We appreciate our trails and those who walk it and share in the beauty we call home! We hope you will consider us again in your travels!

“spent 3 hours in this centre.. fascinating went for the long walk and enjoyed it”

The well marked trails with signs describing the plant life, the descriptions of early native life, the photos and interesting history of early days of life in the Okanagan valley. An arresting experience.

“Excellent and informative”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We called in here because the weather was poor and we were looking for something of interest. We weren't disappointed.
There are some excellent displays that really make you think about the history and in addition there is a live eagle eyrie with young birds calling for food.
Unfortunately we couldn't see the show as time was tight but overall would recommend this for a visit.

Thank you for your positive review. It is amazing that weather can influence our choices regardless of our own thoughts and we are happy you chose to visit us. The bird you were witnessing is Ospreyoos (male) and he has been coming back to his pole every year for the last several years. He adds an element of 'awesome' when people see him! Again, thank you for visiting. We hope to see you again!
