“Paper thin floors”

Hotel had a great location and very clean. However we had a ground floor and there seemed to be no noise barrier at all between us and the 2nd floor. Every footfall or chair movement was penetrating and that it started at 5am was not impressive.

We booked in for one night, and extended for an extra night. Rooms were large, I don't know how some people consider them small. The rooms are exceptionally clean, which is a must. Located close to amenities. We needed a wheelchair accessible room and that room was excellent! My son complained about the wi-fi, but I don't necessarily want computer connectivity all the time :) The rooms had a fridge. A clock/radio would be nice

The Avalon Inn is a fairly small but quiet and comfortable place to stay. The beds were quite nice and everything seemed fairly new and clean. I don't travel much so I just picked a place on a whim, but was very glad I chose it!

The only disappointment was the lack of pool or hot tub.

The Avalon Inn is conveniently located if you are passing through Osoyoos, The wireless internet service was no service at all; the router worked, but it wasn't actually hooked to the internet - it needed to be reset. The room was simple, but that was fine. Until about 0500 when the vehicles in the parking lot were started. There's little else that equals waking up to the sound of a rough idling diesel pick-up, fortunately. All in all, there was nothing to make me want to return.

Osoyoos is a very small town but around it is a wonderful rural community with fresh fruit and vineyards and a pleasant feel. After reading reviews of several of the hotels/motels & resorts in the area I reluctantly choose the Avalon Inn, despite some bad reviews (other venues also had a wide range of reviews).
It appears that the Inn has recently expanded -- one side seems sort of decrepit -- but most of the units seem relatively new. The guy in the office seemed really bored with his job, but ultimately did give us some good advise on where to eat (a "grill" right within walking distance with good wine, food and a delightful woman who runs the place).
We stayed in the new part and as one reviewer here said, the rooms are large, the wash basin is in the room not the bathroom, a small fridge was good to have, the bed was very good and all was quite pleasant -- at a very reasonable rate.
We got what we wanted here, a good night's sleep w/o any negatives.Try it, you'll (probably) like it.

I booked a room for my husband and his friend well in advance of their trip because they required a wheelchair accessible room. I was assured over the phone that the room was accessible, with a wheel-in shower and two beds. When they arrived today, after a two-day road trip, their room had been given away to someone else. Even when my husband showed the staff the confirmation which indicated that they had booked first, they were given a non-accessible room. The bathroom door had to be removed so that they could use the bathroom. Real nice. What good is advance booking and confirmations? We won't trust them again.

Welcome to the Avalon Inn, located in the heart of downtown Osoyoos, British Columbia. Just across the street from Tim Horton's, and a five minute walk away from the shores of Osoyoos Lake, this family owned motel can assure you a good night's rest. Although we are located just off Main Street / Highway 3, we offer one of the quietest accommodations in the community as each classically furnished room is soundproofed for your privacy and peace of mind. Here you have access to free Wi-Fi internet, cable TV with free movie channels, and a refrigerator and coffee maker in each room. We are within just two minutes of walking distance from a number of restaurants in the area - everything from casual to fine dining - though if you plan on creating your own home-cooked meals, we have fully equipped kitchen suites just for you. There are also barbecue facilities located in our lush courtyard, where you can lay back in the sun or relax under the shade of the maple trees while listening to birds chirping away cheerfully. Most of our rooms are pet-friendly, as long as you have non-shedding/non-allergenic pets! Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park is less than 3 km away, and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club is a 5 minute drive from the motel. We don't have much of a lake-view of Osoyoos Lake from our balcony suites, although we do have good views of Peanut Lake which is quite close to the motel. ... more   less
