We booked the 1 bedroom Suite for Saturday night, and we were pleasantly surprised! I read 1 review that said this place was "in the middle of nowhere" which couldn't be further from the truth, it's within 5 minutes of anywhere in Osoyoos...

The room was REALLY clean, the bedroom had 2 double beds plus there was a a sofa bed...

Tasteful decor, real tiling in the fully equipped kitchen, quiet heat-pump that kept us cool...

Our only minor complaint was that there was no clock radio... So as we drank a bottle of wine we ha much music on, but would have preferred a radio of some sorts...

Overall, the location and room were great, and the price was very reasonable!

We booked this hotel online, so had no idea what is would be like. For starters it is located in the boonies right beside a busy busy highway. When we finally found this motel I went to the front desk to check in. Check in time is 2:00 p.m. it was around 2:30 and we were informed our room was not ready and to come back in half an hour. No problem so off we went for a coffee and drove around Osoyoos we noticed there were a lot of hotels close to the beach instead of across town miles from the lake.We came back close to an hour later and were informed our room was not ready yet. At his point my husband suggested cancelling our room. Talk about attitude from the guy at the desk no I'm sorry it is taken so long or offering us a coffee while we wait, instead he told us do what you want but I will still charge you for a night. Finally we were told our room was ready. We opened the door to a very plain run of the mill room with a old tiny t.v. The bathroom sink was outside the bathroom slash kitchen bathroom sink. The bathroom was so small you could hardly turn around in it. I would never never stay here again. If you are going to Osoyoos look for a motel close to the beach instead of a highway view.

My friend & I stay at the Avalon every July for a week for the past three years. We just love it.
The rooms are very clean, & the beds are very comfortable.
The staff are very friendly, if you need something they are right there to assist you.
The motel is in a great location, there is a Tim Hortons right across the street & Smittys is right next door & it is within walking distance from downtown for shopping & the beach is only a couple blocks away , what more could you ask for?
If you just feel like relaxing one day there is a real nice area in the motels yard to do that .
Like I said we love it there & we hope to stay there next July if we can get away.
For anyone who wants to go on a relaxing, but fun trip I would highly suggest The Avalon Inn in Osoyoos B.C.

We booked ahead sight unseen, Recommended by some well known travel writer friends in Vancouver.
The reception was warm and welcoming and the rooms were spotless. The grounds were charming and well landscaped .One may think you were in Santa Fe ,New Mexico.
My husband slept very well that we decided to stay an extra few days, Cheers

I have stayed at the Avalon Inn on several different occasions over the last few years. I'm prompted to write this review due to several other reviews on here which I consider to be highly unfair.

I have always found the Avalon Inn to be a comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. The location is very good and everything in town is within walking distance (if you don't mind a bit of a stroll after dinner, you can even walk to the wonderful Campo Marina restaurant). The value for cost is very good, and I intend to continue staying at the Avalon Inn when I visit Osoyoos.

It is not a 5* resort by any means, but it is a good, decent hotel and deserves to be rated fairly on its own merits.

I do recommend staying here for anyone who wants a comfortable, basic 'home base' to explore Osoyoos and the beautiful South Okanagan wine country.

Stayed here for one night. Room was very large and comfortable. Didn't have any problems with this accommodation and would stay here again if we were in Osoyoos. Good value.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the Avalon Inn, located in the heart of downtown Osoyoos, British Columbia. Just across the street from Tim Horton's, and a five minute walk away from the shores of Osoyoos Lake, this family owned motel can assure you a good night's rest. Although we are located just off Main Street / Highway 3, we offer one of the quietest accommodations in the community as each classically furnished room is soundproofed for your privacy and peace of mind. Here you have access to free Wi-Fi internet, cable TV with free movie channels, and a refrigerator and coffee maker in each room. We are within just two minutes of walking distance from a number of restaurants in the area - everything from casual to fine dining - though if you plan on creating your own home-cooked meals, we have fully equipped kitchen suites just for you. There are also barbecue facilities located in our lush courtyard, where you can lay back in the sun or relax under the shade of the maple trees while listening to birds chirping away cheerfully. Most of our rooms are pet-friendly, as long as you have non-shedding/non-allergenic pets! Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park is less than 3 km away, and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club is a 5 minute drive from the motel. We don't have much of a lake-view of Osoyoos Lake from our balcony suites, although we do have good views of Peanut Lake which is quite close to the motel. ... more   less
