One of the nicest provincial spots I have ever been. The lake is very swim able nice and warm. Weather is always fantastic. The wind is insane though make sure if your tarp is well fastened down or not use one.
North side of the campground is a lot windier than the south.
Not a lot of spots so you have to book the spot months in advance but well worth it.

Thank Michael I

This boardwalk takes you on a short walk where you can see birds. There was also a beaver playing in the reeds. It was very beautiful and peaceful. We went in the early evening.

We have stayed here in our RV 4 times in the past few years....always the week after the May long weekend or the week after Labour Day, as trying to book a campsite here anytime during the actual summer time period is frustrating at the best of times due to the extreme popularity if this park. I must say when it's nice it's freaking awesome...that being said, of the approximately 15 days/nights camping here, only about 5 of those days were wind-free. Keep in mind, this campground is literally in the middle of Osoyoos Lake.

If you have a primary vehicle that you can leave the campground with, there is an abundant of local attractions--number one on our list is visiting the local wineries. There is some local hiking.

The staff at HP are super efficient...one traveller pulls out and they are in and grooming the campsite for the next visitor straight away. Firewood is delivered at $8/bundle.

Very cold and windy this Easter weekend. The park staff were attentive and kept the park clean. The people who camped in site#38 decided to save two spots for their friends on thursday night of Easter long weekend. Their friends did not show up till Friday afternoon. I did not know that you were allowed to "reserve" in a non reservable period. We watched people drive away because they had put up a chair and used someone else's old tag to make it look like they had paid when they had not. As we drive quite a distance it would be very upsetting that they took up to waterfront sites for people who did not show up until the next day. This practice should not be allowed. The park staff should be more aware of this and deter it from happening again.
