Loved it. We stayed in teepee 2 down by the river. The Woodburner in the teepee was so cosy. My husband was in his element, chopping wood and cooking over an open fire. We had to buy a few cooking items to self cater as we could carry little in our luggage, but picked up a few bits cheap in Hinton at both Safeway and Walmart. Carol and Mary were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful, even though they were getting ready for a big Centennial family reunion at the weekend. Nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed our horse trekking - such stunning views. A bit of a walk to the flush toilet and shower, although there is a little outhouse loo near by. The setting was stunning. We had company for our few days when Gympy, the site cat made himself at home with us. There is also a dog, Sargeant who visited us, especially at meal times, but he was not too be fed - strict instructions (very hard). We are keen campers normally and you probably need a bit of experience to try these. There are cabins as well and even bed and breakfast in the old railway station house. If you do go, travel into Hinton one evening and watch the beavers at work from the beaver boardwalk - magical. In a less well known, slightly more remote area, but if you are looking for somewhere to chill -perfect.

I had a magical three nights in one of the cabins here, taking long hikes up into the surrounding forest and spending happy hours just sitting and writing on my verandah, with its view of the Athabasca. I loved communing with the horses and with Mary and Carol's menagerie of dog, cat and macaw too. The cabin had everything I needed, a comfortable sofa and bed, a kitchen and bathroom. Even a gas barbecue outside.

Room Tip: Book the grey cabin for maximum privacy. Be sure to spend an hour or two at the Beaver Boardwalk in...

Stayed here with the wife for 3 nights in late May in the brown cabin. Used it as our base camp for our Jasper adventures.
It's really a ranch: we had horses grazing about in front of our cabin when got there. Friendly animals all around: horses, a labrador and a lonely little cat.
Anyways, it's a nice property with a beautiful view of the river and Rockies.
Cabin was equipped to meet our needs. Nothing too fancy, just what you would need if you were at home.
Would definitely return, but for a longer stay

We visited Old entrance as a family group. We greatly enjoyed the rustic and remote feel of this river side site. We also appreciated the no nonsense hospitality if you needed advice you just had to ask other than this you were left alone to enjoy the environment. We stayed in the white cabin it was perfect for our needs clean warm and roomy. We even slept with the curtains open as the night sky was quite something. We did a wonderful 3 hour horse trek a first for me again there was none of the softly softly approach, it was a great experience in real Alberta country, off the beaten tourist trail with real people.! The internet was slow but it meant skyping home while sitting on the lawn listening to the river and wolf howl.! In one day we did a drive and saw a black bear, mountain goat, elk, deer, squirrel all within a short drive of this great place.
All in all a dam good stay, would i return you bet.!

We stayed here during labor day weekend of 2011. I booked this place based on tripadvisor reviews and didnt want to stay in the park :). I also wanted a unique teepee experience. It was wonderful. the teepee is comfortably sized and neat and unique. The teepees are laid out by the river bank and you hear the sound of the flowing river all night and what better way to sleep. The whole place is charming and cannot be missed.
I strongly recommend a stay here

My son and I came here to experience a night in the teepee, best idea ever, no need to pack much cause this is a ready made campsite. The grounds are beautiful and the people as well, I felt secure and free here. My son was not able to go on the horse trail but the owners filled the void and made him very happy!!! Breakfast felt like eating at an old friends and was the perfect combo. I will defiantly keep this place in mind.

Totally loved our stay. Just one nite so did not do any riding or hiking. Cooked steaks, corn and potatoes in foil on the grill. On the way into town there is a shopping center with groceries, dollar store, and walmar. Saw lots of Animals on highway between jasper. The teepee beds were fine and too warm for the stove.
