“Worst wifi & TV ever”
Reviewed 4 September 2012

Room is ok,clean. But wifi is bad, can't connect, tried so many times, if ever get connect, it's only for a few seconds, even tried early morning 5am,still not successful. Tv remote, even press so hard, can't change channel.
Wouldn't stay here again, this is our second stay at econolodge, seems like Econolodge everywhere about the same.

The facilities in this hotel are average, nothing to write home about, nothing much to complain about either except that the internet WiFi signal was so weak as to be unavailable the whole evening we spent there before sleeping. The continental breakfast is typically average: cold cereals, toasts, bagels, boiled eggs, yogurt, instant hot cereals, and fruits. The thing that is the breaker is management had instructed staff not to tear up or destroy the credit card imprint needed for damage deposit. Almost all places I know tear them up when I checked out. Here I am told they cannot do that as management wants to keep the imprint. Whatever for I do not know.
BE AWARE OF THIS WHEN YOU BOOK.

Comfortable, clean beds - the bathroom and floors should have been cleaner - no wifi except in the lobby, tv remotes were difficult to use (and need to use 2 remotes). No hot-tub or swimming pool. Free continental breakfast was a nice bonus though - no waffles but there were packaged pre-made pancakes, bagels and cream cheese, cereal, muffins, apples/oranges, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, toast, coffee and juice. Not a 5-star but good value for what we paid. Was a bit disappointed when we checked in at 1:45 pm and front-desk said our room might not be ready yet and check-in was 3:00. I just said "no, confirmation says check-in is 2:00." She said she would check and came back to say it was ready. How can front-desk not know check-in time or think visitors don't know?? Otherwise, staff were friendly.

The hallways smelled of stale smoke. The bed was not made properly and the blanket had stains on it.It was not worth the money we paid for it. The curtains did not cover the light that was close by therefore we did not have a good sleep.

We checked in and couldn't have been greeted by a more rude person.. I'm assuming it was her boyfriend that hung around in the lobby for the duration of the evening. She treated us like we were interrupting her personal time rather than checking in to a hotel that she works for. We were given a pet room on the first floor that was right by the ice machine. I didn't sleep at all that night between the ice machine being used at all hours of the night, the noise of the workers up at 4-6am and the air conditioner .. it was so hot in the room and the window open did nothing to help. The room itself was fairly clean but massively outdated. The TV wouldn't show anything other than channel 3. The mirror was filthy in the room and there was hair in the tub. There was a large no smoking sign on the door going into the room but the room had very obviously been heavily smoked in recently as we could hardly breathe. We were told no other rooms were available that were pet friendly. We ended up opening the window and turning on the AC at full blast to try and get some of the stale air moving.. Even after being out of the room for 2 hours while the AC ran, there was little difference in the smell when we returned.

Staff at check out was very friendly and courteous, too bad not all the staff was like her! Breakfast that was offered in the morning was mediocre at best, most items were not stocked and what was stocked was stale and horrible tasting.

Will not stay here again even if it was the only hotel available!
