“Not great service”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

3rd party booking grabbed smoking room. Hotel refused to help. Phone in room didn't work, front desk gave me cord to fix myself. Wifi second floor kept asking for user name and a password. Front desk was useless with wifi dilemma. No more of my business..

Like many people, we wanted to save money while visiting the Jasper area, but not wanting to pay the Jasper hotel prices. This hotel was great. We booked a one bedroom suite and while it was advertised as a kitchenette, it was equipped with more than what we expected in a full kitchen (except for stove). Continental breakfast is included and available in a huge eating area. This is the best seating I've ever seen in a hotel with more than ample table and chairs. Usually, it gets crowded and there is not enough seating if you wait too late to go. Not the case here.

The staff were accommodating and very friendly. They were well-informed and able to answer all questions about local tourist attractions, restaurants, directions.

We had no problem with wifi.

Too bad it was in the wrong city. We enjoyed the 45 min drive from Jasper to Hinton, but not the fact that we had to pay $20 for a National Park day pass in order to drive through from Lake Louise to Hinton. We didn't even stop along the way and had to pay.

Originally, we had booked two nights at the hotel, but upon finding out that we would have to pay each time we went to Jasper and back, we cut our stay short by one day and left Jasper National Park.

This was one of the most comfortable and spacious hotels we stayed at and definitely worth the money. Too bad in the wrong place.

Room Tip: Even the room beside the elevator was nice and quiet. The hotel was full and we didn't have noi...

we stayed there for 2 nights for our jasper national park visit last month. we wanted to save some money, so we didn't mind the 45 mins drive. hinton wasn't that bad as they have walmart, home depot, many chain restaurants and hotels. but since we are not canadian and dont have data plan with our cell phones, wifi at the hotel is essential for planning our days and econo lodge failed badly. first of all, very often, i couldn't log on to their wifi and for the few times that i was able to, i couldn't load a web page, check email or what'sapp. so to me, it's false advertisement when they said they offer free wifi. we complained to the front desk and she said it's was deal to the thunderstorm happened the night before. but our first night there was before the thunderstorm and there's NO wifi already.

the continental breakfast was also bad. first of all, the breakfast room was tiny, only enough for 16 ppl maybe. it's crowded. for the first morning, the fuel broke 4 times within 15-20 mins. and the microwaves and toasters all stopped working. the asian lady working in the breakfast room was nice and efficient though. also, all the food, including waffles, sandwiches, etc. came pre-packaged and you have to heat in the microwave. it's a waste of time but most importantly, it's not good to the environment. i definitely won't go there again as i saw that there are plenty of hotels nearby.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting Jasper National Park. An affordable alternative to staying in the park! Cleanliness and comfort was OK, the great thing was the customer service. Every staff member that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We had a small dog with us (which we had advised at booking) and felt welcome in the hotel. After checking out, we realized that our camera battery charger had been left in the room. When we phoned the hotel, a front desk staffer went to the room while conversing with us on the phone and located the charger. When we returned later in the day they returned it to us with a big smile. We travel a great deal and we appreciate good attitude!

We stayed her June 14th for our honeymoon, and got a very nice room for less then a $100: king-size bed, vaulted ceilings. Seems great right?

First issue: wifi transmitter is on the first floor only, so good luck on getting a good signal or any speed.

Second issue: those vaulted ceilings? There's a big curved window above the main window, and it has no shade or tint on it, so very bright at 6am. Good luck sleeping in or if you're a night worker!

Good service from staff, clean room and nice showers. Would stay here again, but only if we have too.

So here it goes in a nutshell ... Get room 320 comes with a fire place in room and hot tub... :) has a fridge, huge windows and vaulted ceilings.... Down side tiny bathroom but for the 10 mins I'm in there who cares... Well impressed... Stayed at the one in Kelowna it was gross... Was prepared for same sort of room type... This surprised me next time I come thru town definitely staying at the Hinton Econo lodge...

We were travelling through and check in was average.... The guy didn't smile or welcome us, not very good customer service. Our room seemed fine and then at 5am it sounded like someone was in our bathroom banging around and hocking loogies in the sink. Our baby woke up screaming it was so loud. It was room 111 and we realized it used to be a joined room with the neighbour but there was nothing but a door separating our room from their bathroom. So we all layed awake for one hour as our neighbour got ready in her bathroom, blow drying her hair, talking to her room mate.... It was clear as day. No sound barrier....and because we arrived at 1am, we basically paid 100$ for 3 hours of sleep. The front desk at checkout was a young girl who didn't even ask us how our stay was. We will never pick this hotel again.
