We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite when in Canmore for my son's wedding. The suite was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and professional. We appreciated the help in printing a speech. Our friend's luggage did not arrive with her and the front desk person was very helpful in giving her shopping and dining directions. Thank you so much for making our stay a wonderful experience.

Hi trekkingsenior,

It was our pleasure to help everyone in your party. If we are able to make your stay easier, especially when you are already dealing with the stress associated with a wedding, we will do anything possible.

I hope that you remeber us in the future if you come back to the Alberta Rockies.

Thank you,

We stayed for one week in August 2011. Check in was adequate but they struggled if a large group arrived together and this would often make it difficult to contact the front desk if you had a query. However the staff were always friendly. We stayed in a one bedroomed suite which room was very comfortable and well equipped although decor was quite dark and the room did not get much natural light.. The pool area is very small for the size of the accommodation and it can be very difficult finding a lounger by the pool in the afternoon if the weather is hot and people are wanting to chill out. The property is in a quiet area surrounded by other similar types of property and is a short walk into the town centre.
We used Canmore as a base to see the Canadian Rockies and we really enjoyed the week.

Hello GrandTNinja,

Thank you for the feedback. Since your stay, we have increased our number of front desk staff so that we are able to provide better level of customer service. I will most certainly see if we are able to accomodate more loungers by the pool for the summer.

Thank you for using us as your home base to explore the Rockies,

We stayed at Blackstone for the first time in a three bedroom condo. We were a little hesitant at first because we did not have a pleasant experience staying at Fire Mountain previously or a Bellstar resort. However, whomever you have taking care of the front desk etc at this place should be commended. I would highly recommend staying here again. The staff at Blackstone were extremely accommodating and made us feel welcome and really wanted to do everything they reasonably could to make us 'feel at home.' This was just an awesome experience so thankyou!

Very clean rooms, helpful staff. We stayed in the winter so the underground parking was great! The rooms are quite nice, the only thing that was dissappointing was that it is jammed between 20 other lodges and resorts. Nice town too!

Thank you CindY287,

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the only draw back was being located beside other resorts. We always try to provide the best customer service possible. Please remeber us in the future when you are thinking of coming back to Canmore.

This is a well located hotel in Canmore. It's a bit close to the Trans Canada (so you get the highway noise if you stay on the north side). But you are only a 10 minute walk into downtown Canmore and only 20 minutes from Banff. If you like to access the outdoors and then return to a great place to stay then this is the hotel for you. The pool and hot tub are nice. They have a variety of rooms - from typical hotel rooms to 4 bedroom penthouse. The rooms are clean & modern.

Hello Mommy_of_Boo,

I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Blackstone Mountain Lodge.

We love being located just outside the park with great rates. It is nice to be able to go enjoy the mountains and be able to walk to a small town downtown with a little less hustle and bustle than Banff.

Thank you,

We stay at Blackstone frequently, with our most recent stay in November, 2011. Our stays have always been relaxing and enjoyable. As of recently a few things seem to be lacking. First, housekeeping didn't meet the standard we normally expected. There were smudges on the mirrors, a few candy wrappers on the floor beside the couch, and some of the finishes seemed more worn than normal (scuffs, scratches, wear and tear on the walls, bedding, etc.). Not to say there was anything major, just that the property is showing a bit of wear. As well, they no longer use Aveda amenities in the bathrooms - again not a major thing, but one of the "luxuries" I enjoyed. The hot tubs were also extremely crowded any time after dinner, which meant we were not able to use these facilities as much as we would have liked to. Service was excellent. When we noticed dish towels and scissors were missing from the kitchen, they were delivered to our room within minutes. The one thing that consistently bugs me about the rooms is the small size of the televisions in the living area. It is quickly becoming standard to have 32"+ flatscreen tvs in hotel rooms, so this is one thing I find below standard for a hotel like Blackstone. Will be returning and hope our home-away-from- home continues to deliver on expectations!

Room Tip: For clear weather, mountain side rooms on a higher floor are a must. If you're concerned about g...

Hello Travel_Tricks,

Thank you for coming back to your home-away-from-home. We strive to make Blackstone Mountain Lodge exactly that for our guest, a second home in Canmore.

The information on where our suites are not meeting your expectations is very valued. I will follow up with housekeeping with regards to the suites cleanliness and missing items in the suite. Currently our engineering team is currently doing our yearly maintenance in each suite to bring the suites to the level that you expect from Blackstone.

Have yourself a wonderful day,
Kiley Dare
