We stayed at this hotel in August of 2010 to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary, when we got into our room we where blowen away! So beautiful! A home away from home. The staff had even left an ice cold bucket with champagne for us (we dont drink but certainly appreciated the jesture!). Excellent veiw of the magnificent mountains (REQUEST MOUNTAIN VEIW). We loved our stay so much in August that my husband and I stayed for 9 days over Christmas and couldent have pictured a better place to spend christmas!
All immenities are included with this condo style hotel, plates, cups, bowls, cutlery, pots, placemats EVERYTHING! Including a small washer and dryer with soap and dryer sheets!
The service is great at the front desk, Sarah at the front desk was so accomedating, even allowing us to borrow her sissiors so we could wrap christmas gifts, she's a great worker who manned the whole hotel pretty much herself, running from room to room so we dident mind the wait for pool towels considering how hard she was working.
The only thing we dident apprecaite was some of the "party"people that where staying over christman, they were smoking and drinking in the hot tub and acting like idiots and no one came out to stop this behaviour even though its posted that drinking and smoking in the hot tub/ pool was perhibited. Also during long stays you will have to do a bit of your own housekeeping as the housekeeping staff will only do a general tidy (refill empty soaps, dishwashing soap and so forth) they will also very slopply make your bed too. But really its a good hotel.
I reccomend everyone who stays in Canmore stay here its worth every penny, We believe Canmore is a true GEM in Canada and is worth seeing! Not to many tourists which adds to a ïntimate" mountain town feel!
LOVE CANMORE! Will retire here forsure when the time comes!

Friendly staff and nice location as long as you're not overlooking the highway. Year round outdoor heated pool and hot tub were well used.

This is a great resort property with excellent service.

The only negatives are the small couches in the room (they're really large love seats) and the housekeeping could be better (our room had food spills left on the floor of the kitchen, food left in the sink and remnants of a spilled drink left on the "desk"). Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't describe the room as dirty, but I wouldn't describe it as clean either.

That said, the positives abound - great new property with well decorated rooms and tremendous value. Love that the suites have a full kitchen with utensils and use of a bbq. Heated underground parking and inroom fireplaces are also winter time bonuses.

This would be a great choice for a family wanting to control costs on a holiday.

When the services (ie. onsite restaurant and movies to borrow) catch up with it's sister property, the Falconcrest, the Stoneridge will be amazing.

The only weird thing was we found it a little hard to navigate but once we found our room we were immediately comfortable and impressed. Exactly what the pictures describe although since we were on the 3rd floor (not 4th, which is the top) it didn't have the beautiful vaulted ceilings, boo :) The furniture and decor was comfortable on the body and the eyes...felt just like home but nicer and less cluttered. The bed was AMAZING and we slept great. Nice having an additional flat screen tv in the bedroom as well. We enjoyed sitting on the large deck with a view of the three sisters mountains and could see that the BBQ was brand new and had not yet been used..we ate out so we didn't use it either. All the appliances were new and modern and I could see being very well equipped for a longer stay if you want to cook for yourself. We did go out to the pool as well although were more drawn to the hot tub which was warm and bubbly, perfect on a crisp January night. The hotel was not very busy during this time but the few people we met there were friendly. We had a nice dinner at The Iron Goat pub just on the north side of the highway, a 5 minute drive from the hotel which I would reccomend as well! Overall, the only complaint we had was that we only stayed for one night! We will definitely return and highly reccommend this for couples who just want a relaxing but luxurious place to hang out that isn't home for a couple nights.

We chose this resort as our destination for a romantic weekend and it was the perfect choice!!! So romantic my other half chose to propose!!!
You will not be dissapointed, the suites are fantastic, everything you could ever need and truly a home away from home.
The service was fantastic, the cleanliness was immaculate, bathrooms are huge with showers that could fit 10 people and a bathtub that could fit a giant!!!
We will be returning, in fact we have scheduled our stay for every 2 months!!!

The view of the "Three Sisters" - Frances, Olive and Grace, was spectacular and we enjoyed the spaciousness, fireplace and cleanliness of the property. The underground parking was also a plus and although we did have good weather - around 0-3C or 32 to 40F - it's really nice not to have to drag your luggage thru the snow and cold and you have a nice warm car to start out with in the morning. We were'nt brave enough to BBQ - even though it was not too bad out - we'll save that for a summer visit!

The location is great with easy access to the town and the many restaurants - like the "Crazy Weed" vying for your buisness. We spent 3 nights but next time would like to do 7 nights....so restfull!

We stayed here for a weekend in early January 2011. We liked it, a lot. Very nice apartment style hotel, secure parking, heated swimming pool and hot tub (outdoor) - all things to make this the perfect place for your mountain exploration adventures in the Banff area, summer or winter... for a reasonable amount of money.

Pro's
1. Rooms: The rooms are nicely finished, granite, big showers, full kitchens, flat-screen TVs with DVD player. You name it, this place has it right and in spades. Beds slightly soft, but very nice. We stayed in a king plus add'l room for our son and it was perfect. BBQ available for the summer on your own balcony. Overlooked the pool which is very nicely set in the courtyard.

2. Service: Nice people who know how to do their job. 30 minutes after arriving, front desk called to ask if everything was OK. When an obnoxious, drunk lout in the adjoining property (that they own) was making a lot of noise outside, they were on top of it.

3. Pool: Wow, it was -15C and the pool and hot tub were warm and hot, respectively. And both are a very nice size. Kids will love it although it was almost all adults hanging out apres-ski style.

Con's:
1. Ventilation system: The first day, the heating system was going haywire. On and off all of the time. It was -15C outside. The system would heat, then aircon would kick in, then heat again - trying to keep things perfectly right. Problem is it is loud. Seemed to settle down the second day for some reason.

2. Location: Canmore is an awkward town. This hotel is part of the newer "hotel row" to the east of town, close to the Trans Canada Highway. But from this hotel you heard no highway noise (unlike some others). However, you must have a car (or bikes) to go to restaurants in town.

3. WiFi: Did not work where we were - signal too weak to acquire.

Overall: Highly recommend this place. We are going to go twice more in January 2011 alone!
