Always unsure when you book through the internet. The staff that greeted us was wonderful and pointed out various things to see and do. The room was clean, well stocked, had a fireplace, a big screen TV and a jacuzzi - the perfect ending to our day long exploring. The only down side was the breakfast:it was just marginal and the coffee was aweful. The room that housed the meal was not designed for the number of people so everyonel took things back to their rooms so they had a place to sit.
Despite the food we would return to stay when we are in the area.

Room Tip: Call the hotel directly and ask about the meal plan for breakfast.

Best thing about the place is free breakfast: fancy "iogo" yogurt, packaged hard boiled eggs (the omega 3 kind), tazo teas (the same kinds of bags you find at Starbucks), waffles, toast, cereal and milk, apple/orange juice and coffee. They only had like 5 tables in the breakfast room though - there were TONS of people trying to get breakfast and very little space.

The rooms, on the other hand, are relatively spacious and there's even a little Keurig/Tassimo-type coffee maker in the room.

Other good things: the bathroom is big. Lots of parking. Beds and pillows are comfy. There's also a flat screen TV.

Not so good things: screen doors definitely need some WD-40! Another reviewer mentioned this as well and they're totally right. Also, the door between our room and the next person's room wouldn't lock and we had to get staff to help us force it to lock. The bathrooms show some signs of age, and there was a bit of hair on the walls. It wasn't gross or anything, but these are just some things that remind you that, yes, you are infact staying in a "cheaper" place.

The wifi is also not the greatest - usually a hotel has a network and you log in online with the same password. Here, you get a sheet of paper with an individualized password for every single device you own (i.e. if you have an iPad, laptop, and phone and want to use wifi on all three, you need 3 different logins). There's no problem with getting many log ins from the front desk, but it's just annoying and unnecessary. I don't get why they have it. Are people driving by and mooching off the free wifi in the hotel? Why would they when there are McDonalds and other places with free wifi in Canmore?

The "going rate" before any discounts for a room seems to be around $129, so it's decent value for summer. They didn't charge extra even though I was staying with family and we had 4 adults in the room. Overall, decent stay for the money paid.

Arrived later afternoon and room ready. Close to restaurants and other facilities. Pleasant staff and well prepared room. Enjoyed our time there. Great coffee service in the
room and nice continental breakfast. Room a little small so arrive there early.

For an Econolodge, this one was nice. Positives: There was issues with the tap water (due to the flooding) and the front desk was very nice in handing out bottled water (and lots of it) freely. The rooms were excellent - they had a great aircon (which we used as it was rather hot and stuffy) plus a live fireplace for winters. The spa bath was really nice. The slightly out of town location was okay. Negatives: Breakfast was included within the booking price (as it is at all Econolodges) and for three mornings in a row, there was no orange juice - despite being promised it for three mornings in a row "that it would be there tomorrow". On the last day there was no apple juice or pastries left either - and we weren't late. The showers had terrible pressure, and kept changing from hot to cold in bursts. Also, I understand that Canmore is mostly very cold, however, it was very hot and dry when we were there, and there was no pool available for use, even at another hotel.

We were in Canmore for the 24 hours of Adrenalin race so the location of the hotel (on the hotel strip away from the town centre) was OK. We had a vehicle so it didn't matter.

This hotel was GREAT! The beds were comparable to the best beds we had slept in (the most important criteria for me!) It was quiet and, being on south side of the hotel, we had a fabulous view of the mountains. The room was large and the jetted tub, microwave, fridge and fireplace (which we didn't use) were a bonus. Good service, very clean. 2 star towels and soap but make up remover mover and a big bath tub made up for that!

The breakfast was more than adequate (including hard boiled eggs, yogurt, whole wheat bread and the usual cereals). The only criticism is that the outside of the windows were very dirty (obscuring the mountain view!) The price was a bit steep (probably because it was a busy weekend) but I would highly recommend this hotel for the off season and skiing.

Room Tip: get a room on the south side of the hotel for great mountain views (on the northside I think you onl...

We stayed at this hotel on our way through Canmore. The price was good, and as we were arriving late and leaving early, our requirements were simply a clean room and a comfortable bed. The room was clean but the bed was very hard. The air conditioning was very efficient as they must have had a power outage before we arrived and the room was quite stuffy. Within a short time, it was comfortable again. The staff on check in was not terribly friendly, but on checkout the new person was great. Sorry, can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't stay for it. Overall, I would say this is a fine hotel for a stopover, but I wouldn't stay longer than the one night.

We recently visited the Canmore area with family members from the East and stayed for a night at the Econo Lodge. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the staff at the front desk were great. In conversation we discovered that Kyle was from the same town as us in Ontario and my sister-in-law worked with his Mom..so it's a small world and so nice to be able to discover these things thru great conversation. We intend to go back to Canmore and look for a retirement home and we will certainly be staying at the Econo Lodge. Keep up the great work!!
