“Good location, friendly service.”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

We stopped here on our way home from Northern Alberta. I had booked online but somehow it did not complete. The staff was most accommodating and gave us a room at a slightly better price than we had booked for. The room was good, not at all noisy as per some other reviews. Only concern is the design flaw in the bathroom. For two people the door gets in the way. Otherwise no complaints. The buffet breakfast was great, always tempted to eat more than we should. Would stop here again for sure.

Booked 3 rooms for a 1 night stay - rooms average, showing age. Pillows were super-firm, mattress very soft, especially on the sides. I fell out of bed 3 times in the night because the side slopes off. Housekeeping could be a little more diligent - lots of dust on the lamps, bits of fluff and Kleenex pieces on the bathroom floor, etc.
Breakfast vouchers for $5.99 per person were issued at check-in; went to see those without vouchers were paying $14.99. We arrived at 9AM and there was no bacon left on the buffet - asked 2 personnel, said they had run out and were not replenishing it today, and did I want to take it up with their manager. Seriously? You have a $14.99 buffet (which provided minimal quality food at best) and you're not replacing the bacon after 9AM?
I made our own waffles and tried the "mixed berry syrup" which was a pink gelatinous goo - with virtually no flavour. We were unable to determine which berries might have contributed to this mess. The kitchen needs assistance. I guess you get what you pay for; I feel bad for the folks who paid full price for their breakfast.
On the plus side, we were in rooms facing the highway, rather than the railroad tracks; very little noise from the road to disturb you in the night.
If it were not for the Ramada logo, we would have thought we were with a totally different hotel chain.

Room Tip: Highway facing rooms are quieter

I stayed here last minute after my original hotel overbooked & they sent me to Ramada for 1 night.

The rooms are nice and up to date but the hotel is directly next to train tracks that are active overnight. Not sure if any rooms would be quiet even if you were facing the other way? I slept well because I was up late and there were no further trains after I went to bed.

Nice to have the in-room fridge.

Staff seemed friendly and accommodating despite my late-night frustration w/ a nearby hotel who did the overbooking.

Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast so no comment there... but if it were possible to get a room away from the tracks I would definitely consider this hotel again.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room at the front of the hotel that does not face the train tracks!!

Nice hotel for a break to the banff national park. Situated at a by convenient place over the valley, and has walking distance to Safeway and other stores. It also has a indian restaurant on the premises. On arrival we were offers discounts breakfast coupons at $5.99. The next day breakfast was very good and had lots of variety with all you can eat. Rooms were provided with a freezer and microwave (unlike some ramada hotels in Alberta).
The pool and spa was not very impressive, with water all around the place. It was not well maintained as well.
The front desk staff is very helpful and you can find information brochures all around. The walk over the bow river and the hill behind starts from behind the hotel. It's three sisters mountains were visible from the room window.
Overall I am very satisfied with the stay and would come back to this hotel, in another opportunity.

Room Tip: Chose for the room facing the railway track.

Nothing special about the room, bed was ok, not overly comfortable but not incredibly uncomfortable either. Everything appeared to be clean, couldn't quite figure out the air conditioning controls. Robes and towels could have used some fabric softener.
The breakfast deal was great, $5.99 for all you can eat breakfast buffet.
Nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the price was good.

There are many Ramadas I would NOT recommend. This is one I WOULD. It is on the noisy side and the design may require considerable walking to reach your room. Wish the stairwells were labeled. They are behind blank doors. Please put stair signs on them! Not impressed with the bologna on the breakfast buffet... And I don't like the way you have to figure out how to get to breakfast on the 3rd floor. Like most people first morning we walked outside to reach breakfast. Thankfully it was just chilly and not raining or snowing. Good news is nice frig and microwave in roomy room.

Room Tip: Tough choice if you want to open windows -- busy train track at the back; busy street at the front.
