We took the 'easy' route up and the 'difficult' route down. In hindsight, I think it might have been better the other way around. Either way, you end up at the beautiful clear lakes and tall waterfall. We had lunch near the aqueduct by the lakes. There are no picnic tables at the lakes, but there are plenty of benches. We went on labour day, and the place was packed. There must have been at least 100 people on the trail and at the lakes. Everyone seemed friendly, and our dog made many new friends. There was a small cave for the kids to explore by the upper lake, and some kids were doing small climbing/rappelling on the cliff face (not sure if this is a paid activity or what). The wind picked up, and the temperature dropped a bit when we got to the lake, but still was a great time.
