“Great short hike.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2014

We took the 'easy' route up and the 'difficult' route down. In hindsight, I think it might have been better the other way around. Either way, you end up at the beautiful clear lakes and tall waterfall. We had lunch near the aqueduct by the lakes. There are no picnic tables at the lakes, but there are plenty of benches. We went on labour day, and the place was packed. There must have been at least 100 people on the trail and at the lakes. Everyone seemed friendly, and our dog made many new friends. There was a small cave for the kids to explore by the upper lake, and some kids were doing small climbing/rappelling on the cliff face (not sure if this is a paid activity or what). The wind picked up, and the temperature dropped a bit when we got to the lake, but still was a great time.

“Loved this hike”

Followed advice of previous hikers, took the difficult trail up to lakes and easy path down! Gorgeous, surreal scenery. Love my pictures! Will do that again if given the chance!

“Great hike!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

Its an uphill hike that had many others curious as well. At the beginning you are given a choice: easy or hard. The easy way is like a gravel road with a decent incline. The harder way is through some forest which crosses a few little streams of water with a few great view spots. Followed up by some man made rock steps which are mostly with handrails. There are a few benches on thia path which will most likely be of use to you ;) Once at the lakes the scenerey is as if you finally reached your destination and you got what you deserved. Small but gleaming blue/green lake and just a few feet away is another. Teaming up with their natural beauty a rock climbing area for those that dare and just a bit further up is a small cave with paintings. If you like, you can pass through larger rocks and make your way all the way to the top, or leave it "till next time" and make your way down the easy way. I will be back grassi lakes trail, I'm not finished with you...

“Great Views for a Little Effort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2014

There are two routes to the lakes - one easy & the other a bit more difficult - we did the difficult on the way up and the easy on the way down - a good choice. The way up is interesting with good views - at the top there are crags that several climbers were tackling - a great place to sit and watch for a while. Thoroughly recommended.

“Loved the hike, the lake was beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

As many others have stated, the difficult trail wasn't that bad - at least for the first 2/3 of the way. After the view of the waterfall, it did get more steep and slippery with rock steps on part of it. We went up the difficult and down the easy which worked find. The overlook views were great and the Lake was gorgeous! We were there about 7:00 pm and it was perfect - the lighting was great for pictures and there was hardly anyone there.
