“Ideal Spot For Touring”
Reviewed 18 February 2010

We stayed 3 nights at the Windtower in December. Warm welcome on arrival and all of the staff were happy to give touring advice. We stayed in a suite with a King Size bed in one room and a sofa bed in the combined lounge/dining room. Yes the bedroom was small, but I think thats because they use King Size beds. Underground parking was ideal especially given the snow and cold weather during our stay. Breakfast was cooked to order and the bar lounge is also open in the evenings for a drink and snacks after a day out and about.

Yes it may not have all the glitz of some of the resort hotels in Canmore and Banff, but It delivered on providing a comfortable and clean place to stay whilst exploring the Rockies and an ideal spot for touring Canmore and Banff. Highly recommend Grizzly Paws Brewing and the Iron Goat pub in Canmore.

We checked in today December 28 at 4:30pm, we were greeted by a very warm, welcoming and friendly young lady at the front desk.
We were given our key cards and room number, then wished a pleasant stay.
I was more than a little apprehensive about going to our room because of some of the reviews I have recently read.
To my surprise our room was very spacious, clean and bright, with a nice balcony and full kitchen.
As we have only been here for one night, so far my wife, daughter and myself are very pleased with our room and service.
I will update as our stay progresses

Miserable front desk staff, small room (for the price), hot tub so strong it bleached my bathing suite, charge extra for parking underground.

While the hotel is new , the rooms feel like oversized closets. The bed takes up the whole room. There is absolutely no room to put your bag let alone do anything else. I've travelled alot around the world and I've never seen such a [--] tiny hotel room in Canada. Even in Europe this would be considered small... The staff was unhelpful, informative (we missed the free cont. bfasat as we had no idea it was included) + they got pissed off with us when our key card did not work... (like it is our fault). Being a local in Calgary - you are much better to get another hotel which will be bigger and at a cheaper price than they are charging...

I'm not the person to write reviews - but I was so pissed off that I felt I had to share my frustration. There are alot of other better hotel choices in Camore.... Overall, this was an incredible dissapointment & waste of money.

The rooms were so compact I felt I was in a European hotel. No air conditioning and very poor ventilation. This must be a common problem as both of the rooms we had booked had addittional fans for us to use in a vain attempt to cool the space. By morning we were all exhausted and happy to leave. The staff were very friendly but not really interested in offering any other options to the overheated rooms!!!

Went for dinner this evening with a table of 5. Even after recomending this to friends. Well the recomendation, now is do not go there. All's going untill the GM Alain and his family arrive, which is fine as he has much right as I to be there. The staff are all over him like a bad rash they forget about our table. WELL, of the 5 of us 4 orders were wrong. 2 of the steaks were over done and the excuse to replace them was that they only took out 3 for the evening and only had had frozen ones left.. Zero apology. The GM Alain sat right next to us on another table with zero apology, after he must have heard our concerns. Yet he had a smug look on his face. The Chef even came out the kitchen AFTER WE COMPLAINED with fancy deserts for the GM and his table with a ZERO apology to ours. One word for that and ain't going to mention it on this site. Alain we are legal paying customers who deserve the respect and service we pay for. BTW my steak had bone in it, dry and over done versus medium as requested. It also took 40 minutes to receive our meals.Zero compensation, just "We won't charge you for it", and deal with it attitude. So I have to eat poor quality food, at no cost and its all good. I don't think so Pal. We came to enjoy ourselves and thanks to you and the team, this did not happen. Maybe if they saw that there was another table then things would have been different. 2 tables in the whole resturant and your Chef could not cope. Well, is it that he cannot cope, or is it because he is trying to keep you happy. Remember I am the customer and in small town we talk. After telling the waitress that we expect this matter to be rectified, the attitude and response remained the same. We were not asking for a free meal or anything, BUT "SORRY SIR, HERE IS A DESERST OR A REPLACEMENT MEAL FOR THOSE THAT WERE INCORRECT IS ON THE HOUSE". i Apologise for encroaching on your "private" party held at Bonjour Bistro by the GM and his family. I just thought this resturant was for everybody, not just you and your family.
