“Must get Room with Fireplace and Jetted Tub!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed here while on our vacation trip in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. We stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs the first 4 nights, but needed to save some money for the rest of our trip. Decided since we had a rental car to drive 10 miles south of Banff to the town of Canmore. It was a short drive back and forth. We stayed at the Best Western Plus - Pocaterra Inn in Canmore. We had a King Bed room with a fireplace and a jetted tub. It was very nice! Had a microwave and refrigerator. $220 per night compared to Fairmont's $720.00. The elevator service wasn't the greatest, (only 1 elevator that runs slow) but for the money savings we dealt with it. Room had updated decor and was very clean and comfortable. The 4th floor guests were given complimentary Rocky Mountain Soap Company toiletries. Free breakfast also provided with stay and it was really good. They had eggs, sausage and potatoes every morning, along with the normal continental breakfast items.

Nice, clean room with comfortable beds/pillows. Bath & Bodyworks soaps and lotions provided a nice touch. Good gym, steamroom. A little too close to Hwy 1, but a number of the hotels are along the same strip. Rooms facing away from the Hwy might be quieter with a better view.

I'll keep it pretty short and sweet. I picked this place because a family member stayed here before. When I look for a hotel room my requirements are a pool and free breakfast.

The room itself was obviously renovated, we had a ground floor two queen room with a balcony. The bathroom is a good size, the room was clean, there were two pillows, hard and soft which was nice. We didn't use the balcony really, but I noticed upper floors got chairs and table outdoors, I'd probably ask for one of those rooms next time.

The pool area was fun, the pool is a good size, the waterslide is a bit too fast for my liking though. It was good nonetheless.

The free breakfast was good, the place was super busy both mornings we were there, the second day we had to take our food back to the room as there were no tables available. Staff were running there to keep the breakfast area stocked, they did a good job.

I would stay there again if I return to Canmore.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. Very clean, staff were super friendly. Kids enjoyed the pool, slide and hot tub every night and it wasn't too busy. Free breakfast was good and the guys running the breakfasts deserve a big thank you for keeping things stocked and clean! Hotel was inexpensive too - we only paid $150 a night using Priceline - great deal for Canmore in August! We would recommend it and come again. Only negative would be the super slow elevator but we only used it for transporting luggage otherwise we happily took the stairs.

Stayed recently with friends who had flown in from UK. We also had our dog with us and we asked for and received a pet-friendly room too. I should say that the fee for the pet in the room was low compared to the last pet friendly hotel we stayed at in Edmonton who ripped us off mercilessly.
The hotel is well placed for Canmore and surrounding areas and within a few minutes walk of bars and restaurants. We had the hotel hot breakfast and found the room a little cramped when it was busy but the quality of the food was fine for what we wanted. If it does not suit there is an excellent family restaurant immediately next door to the hotel.
Our room was spacious clean and had good amenities with free wifi (hooray).
Overall impression was good and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the Trans Canada Highway which is on the north east side of the hotel.
