Stayed for five nights in Aug 2007. Hotel is clean and comfortable. We had a room with 2 queens and a pullout couch to accomodate our family. The reception desk was friendly and helpful. There is a computer in the lobby with internet hookup. The pool and slide were good and the hot tub big and a good temp. The free breakfast was good, there was the usual muffins and toast, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt and fresh fruit. But if you're staying for an extended time like we did, it got old and boring, so we ended up going to a Smitty's for breakfast a couple of times. There is one elevator which at times is very slow. Inside our room we had a minifridge (only complaint was the freezer door was broken) a small microwave. The room was a typical hotel room, it was clean and did the job. The room rate was a good value for this area, compared to prices in Banff. It was only a 15 min drive to Banff, easy access to the highway. We did not find the noice from the highway a problem. I would recommend this hotel to families who are travelling within a budget.

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2007. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable, clean and well equipped (Fridge, microwave and inset feature gas fire). There was free internet access and the room rate included a good continental breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located just off Hwy 1 (Jct 86) and any road noise is minimal. As in most towns in the Rockies there is a railroad track but the noise is not intrusive. Convenient for Canmore (5 mins by car) and outside the Banff National Park. Banff is about 15/20 mins away but you have to pay the Park Fee! In retrospect this was the best value for money of all the hotels we stayed in during our rockies tour. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Pocaterra Inn for five nights in early July 2007. We stayed in a king room facing the Trans-Canada Highway that was sufficiently roomy and very quiet. The room was equipped with a microwave, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, and a refrigerator, but lacked a safe to lock up valuables. The bed was very comfortable, and hot water was always available at shower time. Check-in was fast and friendly, and we had nothing but good experiences when dealing with the desk staff. There is also a heated indoor pool with a nice waterslide at the hotel, although my wife and I never took the time to give this area a try. We had just three minor complaints with the hotel: 1) There is just one elevator in the hotel, and it is painfully slow. 2) The floor of the elevator is always dirty due to people coming from the pool area with wet dirty feet. 3) The complimentary breakfast is below average, and the two people assigned to maintain it always seemed to be more intent on carrying on private chats than keeping the items stocked and the tables clean. But these minor problems aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pocaterra Inn, and would not hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel room was spacious, the location isn't that good bec. it's close to the interstate and a little far away from downtown Canmore but it served the purposes of our trip, which was to go to Banff (20 mins. away) and see the sights there. Since hotels in Banff were booked full a month in advance, we had to come to this hotel. And it wasn't a disappointment. The room was clean, bathroom was huge. It was comparable to more expensive hotels I've stayed in. Breakfast was ok and the amenities are fabulous. Loved the waterslide!

We stayed five nights at the Pocaterra and found it pleasant but not brilliant. Room was comfortable but not large with all the usual ammenities such as TV, fridge, iron and board, hairdryer, microwave. No room safe. Liked the gas fireplace. There is a coin laundry in the basement. Free internet in the lobby. Noise from the Trans Canada Highway is intrusive and if you get a room on the other side of the hotel you are next to the railway tracks - take your pick! This is a problem with all the hotels along this strip.
Staff were pleasant and helpfull. Breakfast was the same every day - juice, cereal, canned fruit, toast, pastries, coffee. You are even asked to clear away the dishes. But it is free!

Good average Best Western hotel.

Stayed here 2 nights while exploring Banff & Kootenay National Parks. Used my reward points and had an excellent room. Room was clean & comfortable, desk personnel and all other staff were helpful and friendly. My 12 year old daughter loved the slide in the pool and my 18 year old son and I enjoyed the exercise room and ping pong table. Breakfast was filling. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice comfortable family hotel. This hotel is comfortable not smart but everything is in place for a relaxing stay for all travellers. All the facilities and services offered are good and the staff are friendly. The view of the 3 Sisters while swimming in the pool is wonderful.
We would stay again and be happy to recommend it to others.
