We found this property to be a little hidden treasure in the Rockies. It was very quaint and gave a definite feel of being "home". The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the healthy and hearty breakfasts were amazing.

Our room was the smallest on the property (a studio) but it was clean, comfortable and had amazing Rocky Mountain views.

We look forward to returning soon!

Room Tip: The property, though small, has a variety of options depending on your party size.

The Paintbox Lodge is everything it claims to be and more! During our 2 night stay we spent one night in the Studio room and one night in the Cabin Suite, and both are just as pictured on the website. Our original reservation needed to be changed due to a death in the family and both Gini and Kate were so helpful and kind in accommodating this. Both rooms we stayed in were warm and homey with amazing bathrooms - be sure to visit Rocky Mountain Soap while in town and buy some bath salts to use in the deep soaker tub! Breakfast was fantastic - both mornings offered up frittatas and freshly baked bread along with scones the first morning and pancakes the second. Be sure to enjoy some freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee from their coffee station and some homemade yogurt and granola! There is nothing like waking to the smell of baking bread - so much better than an alarm clock! Canmore's Main Street is a short walk from the Lodge and you can easily fill a morning or afternoon strolling and visiting the shops and restaurants. We can't wait to return and hope to do a cooking class next time. Thank you for a relaxing, wonderful stay!

Our pleasure to accommodate our guests and the uncontrollable curve balls life throws their way. Maybe complimentary Rocky Mountain Soap Company bath balls in the rooms might be a nice addition?

I loved the convenience of being right in the heart of Canmore coupled with a very rustic "getaway" kind of feeling. The staff were warm and welcoming and truly added to the experience. Fresh-squeeze orange juice, homemade granola and fresh cappuccinos are the little extras that made our stay feel like great value. The artists loft kept us warm and cozy with a gas fireplace, lots of space and a view of the mountains. We are definitely going back!!

It is true that we have the best location in Canmore and a simple but tasty breakfast. And guests love our Miele Coffee Bar. Come back when the snow melts and enjoy our complimentary town bikes. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

We heard about the Paintbox Lodge by word-of -mouth. We drove to Canmore straight from the ski slopes at Lake Loiuse. We were tired and cold. From the moment we stepped in the door, we knew we'd found an extraordinary place. We were greeted by Gini, a lovely woman who showed us to our room and told us everything we needed to know~and more. Everything was absolutely perfect. The homemade breakfast was the best meal we had on our entire trip! I only have good things to say about this lodge. We are grateful the Paintbox Lodge was a part of our Canadian adventure.

Totally and completely wonderful - the personable staff, the accommodation, the location, the excellent breakfasts and the great cooking class. It was bitterly cold outside but we were toasty inside and had a wonderful winter holiday.
Thank you to all involved for creating a unique experience.
