This review is long over due. We were married in late July a month after the flooding. With no road in front of the Bear and Bison we were greatly concerned that we would not have a place to stay for our wedding weekend. We had guests coming from as far as Texas and it was planned in 6 weeks so rescheduling was not an option. We walked into a facility that still had no main water. 3hrs after arriving we got the word the water was on and the facility was 100% back in action (short of missing the roads and the front landscaping). The staff were confident that they would make our day special, but they did more than that. They made the weekend unforgettable for all of our guests and their service was impecable. You did not see anyone until the moment you needed something and then they were there to help with whatever we needed. The food was amazing, the bar tending was unmatched. Mountie Marc you rock…. He will get that joke.

We were married off site and when we returned to the Inn our room had been cleaned again. Something minor that made such a impression-the last thought on your mind when leaving for your wedding ceremony is picking up your clothes, etc. in the room yet it was so nice to come back to have the room tidy, clothes folded, bathroom straightened, etc. All the little details, (like remembering the bride's favorite drink and bringing it up while she was getting ready to calm her nerves - thanks Jessica) that they put into taking care of you that makes it such a special place.

When we booked our wedding we did not care that we had the whole facility to ourselves yet once we got there we could not imagine sharing this place with anyone else. Having the place to yourself and sharing in the memories with those closest to you is what truly makes the Bear and Bison Inn an amazing place to stay. If you are fortunate enough to go and have Jessica take care of you and Marc keep your cup full, you will have an amazing time. One you are soon not to forget.
A huge thank you to all the staff for making our wedding amazing in light of the tough times they were facing. Without all of you our day would not have been as special as it was.

Thanks so much for your comments! I will pass them along to all mentioned!
We do pride ourselves on making every wedding perfect! The challenges leading up to yours, were really a huge challenge!
To bring readers up to speed~ the month before this wedding arrived, Our area experienced huge flooding, (once in 300 year flood) although the Inn was untouched, we did lose road access and all utilities for 3 weeks, as well as some landscaping damage.
through huges efforts by everyone involved, we reopened after being closed for 3 weeks,
It does my heart good, to hear from you that you had a great time! Thank you very much!
I would like to thank you for supporting our business especially during sucha difficult time!
I would also like to thank all of my staff at A Bear and Bison Inn, who really pulled out all the stops to minimize the impact on our guests!

This was a perfect spot for our work retreat. We had 8 people but it could easily work for a larger group. The rooms were nice, it had a great atmosphere and the food was outstanding. Great view and very cozy.

We had the most relaxing time at our friends' wedding this past weekend. The staff were wonderful, the rooms so comfortable, and the food to die for. It is a great location with amenities close by and stunning views of the Three Sisters. Highly, highly recommend the Bear & Bison Inn. Can't wait to return.

Just before we went Canmore suffered huge flooding and we followed from the UK as they valiantly rebuilt. Despite concerns about how this would impact on our honeymoon stay we wanted to go anyway to support the people we had found an affinity with via online videos of their plight.

We were rewarded by a lovely honeymoon room with a hot tub, balcony, large bed and pretty views. Its a lovely area and very special people. I would have loved to have stayed longer and tipped better but we ran out of cash on the final leg of our honeymoon. The pub next door does ace food and I was relieved beer in canada is a lot nicer then in the states where its like making love in a canoe. (fuccing close to water)

Thanks for the memories and good luck

Ben and Crissy

We chose to do a 'Destination Canada' Wedding. We're from Ontario and wanted to have a small, yet breathtaking wedding in the Rockies. A Bear and Bison not only met, but truly exceeded our expectations! Jessica, our wedding planner did an amazing job co-ordinating our wedding while dealing with a slightly frazzled bride the day before the wedding. The day itself was simply perfect. Even with the quick switch from an outdoor to an indoor ceremony (because of rain), everything ran smoothly. Completely stress free, the backdrop (and Inn itself) was gorgeous and the food was out-of-this-world. The unanimous favourite was the Bison Stew - a MUST try! Thank you for making our day perfect! <3

I have lived in Canmore for 12 years and have recommended places to stay for visitors before but now that I had the pleasure of staying at this charming Inn I will recommend to anyone that they stay here!!
Our room was tastefully decorated, had a jacuzzi tub, a fireplace, a king size bed, a private balcony with stunning views of the Three Sisters.
The Inn is located outside of the core but everything is still within walking distance. Also we found some nice trails in the area that I previously didn't know existed.
The staff was beyond friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. If it was a restaurant I would go there for breakfast right now:)
Thanks Bear and Bison for a great holiday at home, away from home.
Cheers

Leading up to my stay at the inn I was involved with much communication with the staff via email. I was staying here as part of a wedding party for a wedding not being hosted at the inn(although they do offer that). Everything was planned and arranged by the owner, Lonnie. On arrival a printed artinary was ready. I was staying in the honeymoon suite with the bride, we were greeted by chocolate covered strawberries, wine, a OCanada Soapworks gift basket and fudge! At our check in the front desk clerk made it very clear this was NOT a party hotel and we must be very quiet. They have a hot tub on site but after 9 they don't encourage you to use it and after 10 they do not like the jets being used. The inn arranged for a hair and make up stylist the day of the wedding, she came to our room and prettied us up. The room I moved to, as well as the honeymoon suite were gorgeous, spacious and had magnificent views of the Rockies. My room didnt have a shower however it came with a massive jetted tub. All the staff I encountered here were FANTASTIC. Amazing customer service and extremely helpful! I am new to being Gluten Free and on short notice Lonnie, whose a trained chef, created a delicious breakfast that I was able to (thoroughly) enjoy. Despite the flooding in Canmore this inn shows no signs of damage, all landscaping is intact and gorgeous. However, the river the flooded is directly across the street, it's a small eye sore but look up a little and you are surrounded by Rockies. Water and pop is availAble for a minimal fee(1.35). The hotel is fairly priced considering the huge, delicious, freshly prepared breakfast you receive. I highly recommend this inn and hope you try it out!

Thanks for taking the time to write your review!
We apprecaite your comments and insight!
I am also glad you enjoyed your gluten free elopement wedding event!
It's always fun for our chef to rise to the challenge of diet requirements thanks for letting us know in advance that really helps!
Hopefully we will see you again, for one of our exclusive wedding events, (where the whole inn is taken over by the wedding party)
Then We really are the party hotel! and basically the rule book get thrown out the window! ( hot tub all night).
With all of our other events that are non exclusive rentals, we do take great care to ensure our other guests have a great time as well!
We look forward to your next visit!
