I take my grandchildren frequently, they love to see the animals and birds up close.....they never tire of going here, very small but so much fun for three years olds and younger.

This is an incredible experience for you and your kids to see birds, chipmunks and squirrels up close and personal. Take bird seed with you. Also, the blue jays love peanuts in a shell. The black-capped chickadees will sit on your outstretched hand and feed. The blue jays are far more cautious, but be patient. They will dart off a tree limb and grab the peanut out of your hand. You can also feed the squirrels and chipmunks out of your hand. There is a great path to follow. There are bird feeders there, so the birds stay all year round. This is a great winter excursion for the family.

What a beautiful conservation area! We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised. Pay $4 for parking. The boardwalk was beautiful. As we walked along the trail we were surprised at all the chipmunks that will come right up and eat out of your hand! The trails were well maintained and the walk was perfect. We also found a neat old silo. Next time we plan on walking down to the lake. If bringing kids make sure to bring food for them to feed the chipmunks.

Marked trails lead the visitor through the natural forest environment. Lots of bird feeders on trees, many of them put in place by visitors and kids on school outings. Lots of birds to see. Bring seeds and nuts. The ground is literally covered with Chipmunks, who will readily feed from an outstretched hand. Chickadees, with patience, will land on your high, outstretched hand to feed on seeds. Dont be surprised to see Blue Jays, Cardinals, Barred Owls, Racoons, and many more animals in the wild.

A great place to take the children, where they can interact with many small animals and birds. The chipmunks are very tame and take peanuts right out of your hands, A great place to bird watch and see chickadees, plovers, nut hatches, downey woodpeckers, blue jays, turkeys, mallard ducks and Canadian geese, Well maintained pathways, parking lot and signage. A great nature walk for everyone. Parking is only $2.00 and well worth it.
