Lioness Lake Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #6 of 11 Parry Sound B&B and Inns
Reviewed 11 December 2013

Beautiful lake, gorgeous house, interesting area. Bedrooms are cozy and decorated with taste and love. Breakfasts were amazing, very special, and different every day. Shirley is an excellent cook, every one of her dishes is work of art. I can’t say enough good things about the owners. We stayed in their B&B 3 months ago and still remember the great time we had.
During our stay we had a great canoe ride with Wayne (very informative and pleasant), boat tour “30 000 Island”, a couple of bike rides (in Parry Sound and multi-use Park to Park trail ; sure we didn’t make it to Algonquin Park…) My husband and I enjoyed calm fall evening with a glass of wine on the dock. We definitely will be back and recommend this place to our friends.

Room Tip: One of the rooms has private balcony/pario and great view.

We had a 2 night stay at Lioness lake Aug 16 & 17 Shirley and Wayne provided us with a beautiful room comfortable bed Great hospitality and the most amazing breakfasts I have ever had She prepared both mornings a gourmet breakfast that was absolutely delicious complete with freshly brewed Tim Horton's coffee We went to Parry Sound area for a High Valley concert and deferred staying at a hotel for the new experience of a B&B Loved it Would do it again Location is a little isolated but google maps got us there no problem the house is surrounded by beautiful flower gardens

As soon as they heard that we were interested in a local show, our hosts immediately arranged tickets and invited us to join them at their table, treating us like friends. At the B&B every detail was attended to perfectly, so that the overall experience was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. Everyone loved the breakfast. The queen bedroom is especially nice, with a beautiful view over the lake.

First and foremost Shirley and Wayne are the best hostess and host, that we have every had at a B&B. Shirley made incredible breakfasts, Waynes knowledge of the environment, of all the plants and the way he explained everything was so fantastic and the canoe trip was very educational and peaceful.
The rooms were all different and beautifully decorated. We had the room with the deck, which was very nice to be able to sit outside during the late evening and see all the stars.
This is definitely a special place to spend a couple of relaxing days, to reflect on life.

The place is beautiful and the owners very hospitable....serene best describes our experience canoeing on the lake. The host offered to take us canoeing on the lake as we had never been in a canoe before. He was so knowledgable about the environment! Awesome place to stay. The good also was soooo good!!

Very lovely B&B on a quiet lake. Shirley & Wayne were wonderful hosts and very friendly people. We felt more like friends than guests. We spent more time at their B&B than anticipated as we thoroughly enjoyed their lovely home, beautiful grounds & sitting on their dock and swimming. The breakfasts were very nice and presented elegantly. Wayne took us on a 1 hour guided canoe ride on their lake, pointing out all the different flora and fauna. They are a short distance from Parry Sound, Lake Rosseau, many fabulous golf courses, Kilbear Provincial Park, gourmet & casual restaurants and hiking trails. Shirley & Wayne were very helpful and informative which made our sightseeing hassle free and very enjoyable. We have fond memories here and would love to go back.

Room Tip: Daffodil room is huge with a private deck.

Lioness Lake B&B is a really elegant place. Shirley and Wayne have designed rooms that compare well with the best hotels we have ever stayed in. All rooms have en suite bathrooms. And being shaded by trees and by the lake there was no need for A/C - something we abhor with a passion.
Shirley's breakfasts are truly fabulous, soufflés, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed OJ ... When we had to leave early she still gave a good breakfast at 7.30 a.m.
The woodland setting on Lioness Lake just south of Parry Sound is idyllic. We sat on the dock and read, before heading into town for the Festival of the Sound. When we book our Festival tickets next year, this B&B will be our first choice. And the pace is perfect for a honeymoon or romantic weekend.

Room Tip: The Daffodil room has jacuzzi tub.
