We stayed at Between the Maples while visiting family in the Owen Sound area, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gord and Maggie very obviously take pride in providing their guests with the best possible experience. They go above and beyond, with great attention to detail - treats in the room, a guest lounge with a refrigerator and snacks, and interesting breakfasts made with fresh, local ingredients. They are very knowledgeable and able to make recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. Because we were visiting family, we didn't really have much time at the inn to enjoy the wonderful hospitality, which was a little disappointing because it would have been nice to spend more time there relaxing. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Ontario.

Maggie and Gord, two very gracious hosts who have taken on the B&B experience in their retirement, do a remarkable job of being attentive yet unobstrusive. Of their two rooms, we booked the Queen room with the old-fashioned claw foot tub (a great soaking tub if you like baths), which was well appointed, extremely clean, pampering (robes, slippers, chocolate treats, bath products, etc.) and very quiet. Though there was another couple across the hall, and Gord and Maggie in their private residence, all we could hear were the birds signing through the open window and the gentle whir of the ceiling fan. The room is air conditioned if that is your preference. Treats were left for us each afternoon along with cold and hot beverages in the guest common area. There are books, magazines, board games, etc. and a lovely, breezy porch with copula (hand made by Gord!) to sip a glass of wine or whatever. The breakfasts were hearty and interesting, making use of local products while balancing savoury with sweet so that there was something for everyone. Highly recommend a stay at this charming B&B!

Thank you for all your detailed comments about your stay at Between The Maples.
We believe that staying at a B&B should be "A Different Experience" and we are always looking for ways to fulfill this goal. Breakfast each morning is different and uses produce from local farmers or our own garden, jams, fruits and vegetables when available. The new Gazebo is proving to be a great place to relax, read, or chat. Maybe the renovations to the porch will be completed by your next visit.

Breakfast is a special time for us as we get to share great creations with our guests and learn about what brings you to come to our great outdoor environment and the diverse City of Owen Sound. We had to forward the unique rocks you left behind since you were so taken by their historical print. Thank you for the chocolate treat which we could not resist; we ate a little bit each day. Come back in the summer to enjoy the complete nature of the Grotto.

Our stay at Between the Maples was excellent. The hosts were very accommodating. King room had good view and comfortable bed with soft bamboo sheets. We didn't take advantage of the huge jacuzzi tub that was in the room but shower good strength and amenities ample in the en suite. Breakfasts each of our two mornings were delicious with quiche one morning and waffles with fruit and cream the second morning for the hot dishes. We also had good fruit salads and juice. There was a fridge in the comfortable lounge. Overall, our stay was a 5* experience.
