We were doing a road trip to check out the Waterfall tour. The hotel was at a convenient location. The room was spacious and well-kept. A continental breakfast was included with the price. It had good variety for a continental breakfast. Some places just have juice/coffee and a muffin. They served a deluxe continental - bagels, bread, muffins, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, boiled eggs, two types of juice, coffee, tea.

Stayed for 3 nights, the general condition of the rooms is good, as is the location. The main problem I had is with the internet not working, for all of my stay it didn't work even with 5 calls to the technical support for them to fix it. The hotel staff was indifferent to if it worked or not, and all they could do is simply say to call technical support. Although in fairness I don't expect front desk staff to be techies, the fact they seemed rather disinterested if it worked at all is what I didn't like. Considering that other hotels around the same area had working internet for around the same price, I would of rather stayed elsewhere. Continental breakfast was decent.

I was very dissappointed with our stay, we checked out early. We stayed there last year and was very pleased.....not this time. We had blood stains on our bedspread and and I went and showed the staff they gave me another and agreed that it was digusting. When I checked in they gave 3 different rates and they charged me 160 and when I had called they said it was 140. For the same rooms other people paid 120 and then less then that. I asked why and she said people get different rates. I stoood there while they charged the rates.....and the people were the same as me.
I went to the lobby and the breakfast was stored in white garbage bags and it was out at 1:00 am and that was the juice too!
In the am i went up and checked out and then I went and stripped the beds to make it easier for the girl and then we discovered that the mattress cover was saturated in urine stains......all over in different spots. I felt sick that my son laid in that all night. Their was garbage behind the nite stand.. I was dissappointed and will not stay there again and neither will anyone I tell as we travel lots with hockey.
Please advise why this happens and I am paying full price and never offered any money back......
Heather

I have stayed at this place twice in Owen Sound, and both times it has been great. The excellent location of it, near the crossroads and downtown, the price is very reasonable, and the hotel rooms are your typical average rooms. Service is excellent as well. For people travelling or just spending a night in the Owen Sound area, I would recommend the Comfort Inn, for pricing and good hospitality. No complaints at all!

During a summer home renovation, an elderly friend of mine chose to stay at the Comfort Inn rather than at her house, about a 10-minute drive away.An out-of-town athletic team was staying there at the same time and it would appear that THEY enjoyed the experience, as several parties were hosted within and outside other rooms. Several individuals spent a good portion of the late evenings and early mornings being loud, banging on inside and patio doors, and leaving empty beer bottles outside several doors. My friend did not sleep well, but did not complain; nor, to my knowledge, did any other guests. I am assuming that management would have done something about it had there been a formal complaint lodged. To give the place the benefit of the doubt, this sort of thing is probably not a regular occurence. My friend is disabled and was by herself. The clerk offered her a "special" room for handicapped people (specials included being on the ground floor and a bathroom with grab-bars by the toilet and in the shower, although the toilet had a regular, low seat).Direct access from the room to the side parking-spot was through the patio door - quite close; HOWEVER, for other than a couple where one could come inside to open the patio door for the other, the room was poorly situated. For individuals, it required a long walk from the end of the side parking-lot, down to the entrance, through the lobby and back down a long hall in order to enter it from the inside, using a "key-card" - difficult for anyone with manual afflictions. Those with heart problems should ask for a room close to the lobby - or make sure they have their nitroglycerin pumps handy. The A/C worked well, but seemed to let out recycled air - musty and smelling of tobacco. Opening the patio door to let in fresh air might have been an option had a screen door also been provided, but no screen doors were visible from the outside. This would not be a problem for three seasons; however, not too many people these days feel comfortable allowing flying insects into their rooms through unscreened doors in the summer. The morning Continental Breakfast advertised as being set up in the lobby, never showed up. Although there was a make-your-own coffee kit in the room itself, not even coffee appeared to be offered in the lobby, much less a "breakfast". The cost for this person, charged for 3 nights, was $290+ (including taxes). The one double bed was less-than comfortable and the cable TV was "finicky" and difficult to operate.Entry to the parking lot sections is uphill from a main street near the top of the hill - steep, going in and out, with too narrow an area at the hotel's entrance should incoming and outgoing vehicles chance to meet there.I do not believe there was a wheelchair ramp going into the hotel, although I'm not absolutely sure. The stairs were somewhat difficult for people with walking problems. On the positive side, the clerks were professional and friendly. Free newspapers and some local tourism information brochures were available at or near the desk. The room my friend occupied was carefully cleaned and fresh towels and toiletries were replaced daily, as was the coffee-pot kit. The bathroom also contained a good, complimentary hair dryer (not for the taking - legally). The hotel is centrally located between the east and west sides of town. No destination is more than a 15-minute drive from it. It's easily found if you are coming in from the south on Hwy. 6/10 - just look for its sign on your right. If you use Hwy. 26, keep coming straight through until you reach the intersection at 9th Ave. E. (make sure you get into the left-hand turn-lane before you reach the traffic lights), turn left, and go south; it'll be on your left-hand side, just up from the Esso station (the only Esso in town).Having visited the room and checked the lobby in the morning twice - and, having heard of my friend's difficulties sleeping, I would NOT recommend this hotel to those with infirmities, special needs, or on tight budgets. There are several cheaper motels along the same street; usually with one or two vacancies at the end of the day, although I cannot vouch for their quality or amenities. It does appear to be a good hotel for younger people who don't care about cost, the quality of their sleep, the distances to their rooms without outside access or whether or not they have the advertised CB in the morning.
