Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know what a fantastic time you had here. We're glad you got to meet some of our deer. In the winter we can see them walking across the lake onto our property. I guess they like to visit our guests. Also glad you got to try a bit of ice fishing on our frozen lake. We look forward to seeing you again next winter.

We traveled from Singapore in December to Walker Lake Resort on the recommendation of a friend for our Muskoka adventure. We were looking a rustic but clean cabin, peace and quiet, and easy access to the surrounding parks so we could hike and play in the snow. We were not disappointed! While most people vacation in Walker Lake Resort in summer, we would recommend this destination for anyone looking for a winter holiday, in your own private cabin warmed by the hot wood stove and picturesque view of the lake.

Thanks very much for taking the time to write such a nice review. We really enjoyed meeting you and are glad your kids got a chance to build a super snowman. It charmed other guests for at least two weeks after you left until it melted. We hope to see you again one day.

Celebrated New Year's Eve 2012 with great friends - and met lots of new ones. What a fun night. We ate, drank, laughed, sang and danced! The live music was perfect! Great job Sean! The food was AMAZING! Check out the pictures below. What a treat - Chef David even came out and all the guests got to meet him. The Duo of Crab and Bay Scallops was like something I have never tasted before and the roast beef filet - yummy!! Didn't stay over - this time - will for sure be back. The scenery is beautiful in the winter - can't wait to see what it looks like when the snow melts! Thank you Les and Suzi - you have a fabulous spot! Can't wait to come back and visit again.

My husband took me and our newborn son on a 2 day getaway to walker lake resort. We had an amazing time and got some much needed relaxing time. Les made sure we had everything we needed and was very hospitable. We enjoyed trying out the paddle boards and can't wait to come back next year with friends to babysit so my husband and I can paddle board together. We have decided this will now be a yearly getaway we go on. The food at the Norsemen was delicious and the service was fantastic. Our cottage was clean and had everything we needed and more. The jacuzzi was the perfect way to unwind with a glass of wine once the baby was asleep. I can't say enough good about this place.

Thanks very much for your great review. We're glad you had an amazing time and got to relax together. We loved meeting your new son too. We think it's wonderful that some of his first experiences were the sights and sounds of nature at Walker Lake... the lake and trees and the birds at Walker Lake. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Our paddle boards and kayaks will be waiting for you. Thanks for letting us know the cottage was clean and had everything you needed. We do our best to make sure our guests have a relaxing time, get to unwind and can take home great memories of their time here. Thanks also for your nice comments about the food and service at our restaurant. Our cottage staff, chef and servers also read the reviews and appreciate your thoughtful comments.

We were at the Norseman for a wedding weekend and stayed in the Maple cottage. The location can't be beat. All cottages are lakefront and the view is beautiful.

The cottage was fine. If you like rustic, all the better! It had electric heat and also a wood burning stove. It was perfectly clean. When I settled into bed I thought that the room/blankets smelled of smoke. I saw a few of the other cottages as well, which I thought were nicer than the Maple.

The wedding reception was in the main building and they did a terrific job. The food was all very good - biscuits, roasted squash soup, caesar salad, steak/mashed potatoes/veg and creme brulee.

I would recommend this resort, and I would go back.

Thanks for your great review. We're glad you enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. We're sorry about the smoky blankets - we sent them out for dry cleaning after we read your comments. All of our cottages are a little different, some more rustic, some less. I'm happy to hear you would come back, we would certainly be happy to see you again.

We're especially glad you enjoyed the wedding reception, the food and the terrific job our people did. We go all out for our weddings and every single one of us does our best to make sure the wedding couple has the best wedding they could have imagined.

We chose Walker Lake Resort because of its location - a great meeting place for a bunch of girlfriends.
We stayed in the Cedar cabin. What an amazing view. The worst part about Muskoka for me is the bugs - I was impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage. I didn't feel like critters would be sneaking into bed with me!
The cottage itself was great, fully equiped, great location - a few finishing touches might make it a bit better - the couches had clearly been well loved during many family vacations, there were a few spiderwebs freaking me out in the amazing windows, and the showerhead was a bit unconventional, and actually just stopped during one of my friend's showers. Our screen door was also just ripped enough that the dog could sneak out whenever he wanted.
Don't get me wrong - we will DEFINITELY be back - we are fairly well pampered ladies, and a few of the niceties would reallh put this place over the top.

We're delighted to hear that you loved the cottage, and that you were impressed with the cleanliness and the amazing view. We replaced the shower head right away after reading your comment - after all what good is a shower head that stops in the middle of a shower.

We appreciate your mentioning it could use a few finishing touches, we try to add a bit every year to enhance the enjoyment of everyone's stay. Last year we added wifi, for this winter we just replaced the old wood stove with a brand new one for our fall and winter guests. We're looking for some new couches to replace the well-loved ones also.

We certainly do hope to see you again..

When it comes to vacationing and experiences, there is nothing like staying at a rustic but super clean cottage and a beautiful lake! Wanting more than a hotel stay, me and my fiance searched the the net and found The walker Lake Resort in muskoka. Its perfectly situated between Algonquin park and Huntsville, about just over 2 hours from Toronto.

I had called and spoke to Les which is the owner of this family run resort. he was friendly, very professional and accommodating both on the phone and again in person . One phone call was all it took to book our stay!

We stayed in the Maple cottage, its a beautiful 1+1 cottage that gave us plenty of space and privacy. It had a amazing view of the lake from the wall to wall windows, full kitchen with every item you would need(Inc wine glasses), TV and a DVD if you have time to watch since there is so much to do, wood burning fireplace, spacious bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub, nice size deck with a propane BBQ, and a dock about 50 feet from the cottage on the lake!!

The dock is very private, perfect for reading the morning newspaper; sunning in the afternoon or star gazing at night. The nights were special for us, as we curled up with extra wool blankets on lounge chairs, all of which were provided. Coming from Toronto, it was a treat to see so many stars! My widow to the lakeside was usually open: in the mornings for the sounds of waves reaching shore or calming us to sleep. To awaken to blue lake and sky, feel warm winds softly blowing in through curtain sheers — this cottage is truly what "Heaven On Earth" is all about.

There is also a 5 star restaurant called Norsemen Restaurant. sadly we did not eat there. We live in a condo and I rarely have a chance to BBQ and so BBQ it was for us plus we eat out all the time back at Toronto, but from what I heard from other gust at the resort the food there is fantastic.

The Lake is the jewel of the resort . Its beautiful with amazing scenery and great clean water, plus lots of fish!!! Its great fishing and there are 2 motor boats, 3 canoes and 5 kayaks that could be used free of charge and with free gas to explore the lake. No matter what I say my words don't do justice for how beautiful this lake is, you have to see it for yourself.

Everyone that we meet there was sharing the same wonderful experience as us. It was great R&R for us and missed it as soon as we drove away.

We stayed there Aug /2012 and the last day we drove to Algonquin park since it was about 15 min from walker lake and had a wonderful time exploring the park as well.

It's a place we will visit again !!! Maybe this time in Fall :)

Thank you Les and Suzi for a wonderful stay!!

Room Tip: Maple is a great cottage for the couples
