“Excellent B & B!”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Facilities were basically "top-knotch". It is a beautiful place and has been laid out and decorated very well, as a B & B. John and Christine were wonderfully accommodating and provided fantastic homemade breakfasts! Besides have a lovely spacious room, there was a guest kitchen, 2 sitting areas, and other extra amenities; games, books, piano, kayaks, bbq, sandy beach..... Have no hesitation in recommending Fairy Bay Guest House to anyone. Wonderful stay!

Family of three (9 year old) enjoyed our short stay at the Fairy Bay Guest House. We felt like we were in a postcard from the moment we arrived: beautiful guest house, rooms with lake views, 2 common sitting areas inside the house, great grounds with a real sand beach & shallow water entry, kayaks, canoes, lovely rooms, evening campfire/smores and excellent breakfast. We felt like we were staying at a resort, but with only a few guestrooms.

Room Tip: Although there was no swimming pool, Fairy Bay was better than any pool could be.

The hosts, John and Christine were extremely accommodating. The inn is on a lovely lake. Canoes and kayaks are available for use, as are a couple of bikes. Breakfast was homemade, delicious, and quite generous in size. The guest house is immaculate, and beds are comfortable. They even met the needs of my mother, who sleeps in recliner chair.

Went there over the long weekend and have absolutely no complaints about the place. It's lovely and clean. The owners were nice and friendly and even taught my 3 year old to fish from the jetty as well as roast s'mores at the bonfire. Needless to say she didn't want to go home. Overall a marvelous experience.

I stayed here on the July 1st long weekend and really enjoyed my stay. Originally I had planned to book at the Deerhurst resort nearby but decided against its impersonal feel. Fairy bay was awesome.. the owners were extremely friendly and very attentive. The rooms were A+ extremely clean and comfortable... the food was excellent. No complaints here.

Room Tip: they are all good rooms from what I can tell.

So my kitchen was being done and my 2 daughters and my 4 grandkids came. To keep them safe while the counter was being done my husband got us a night at Fairy Bay. It was wonderful. The grandkids loved the beach and the rooms were wonderful! The views from our rooms were incredible. We would go back maybe next time just my husband and I. Breakfast was perfect for the kids. I highly recommend this B&B to family and friends.

My wife, son and I recently stayed for a weekend at Fairy Bay. We decided on a spur of the moment road trip for our sons 3rd birthday. Being the first official long weekend of the summer season we were lucky enough to book a room here on such short notice. The hosts/owners John and Christine are amazing people who truly go out of their way to make you feel at home. An fabulous location on a quiet bay with super clean rooms and a truly great breakfast which varies every morning. There's a kitchen to store your food, a BBQ beach side and a bon fire every night. It's Muskoka hospitality at its finest, we will definitely be back. This is not your typical run of the mill B&B, with somebody renting a room or two out of their house. I would say Fairy Bay Guest House is akin to a fine European boutique lodge or Inn. I would say that your hosts are what make or break your stay, John and Christine are just really nice, honest down to earth people who genuinely care about their guests. Our 3 year old son had a great time on their private beach and fishing off the dock as well as canoeing in the bay. While we have family and friends with cottages in Muskoka I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay at Fairy Bay Guest House again.

Pro Tip: ask Christine about her bakery, maybe you'll be lucky to get some samples or ask John about his cars and things to do in the area which are plentiful. Also, John's Eggs Benedict is to die for.

PS: and thank you to John and Christine from Maggie, Jeremy and Stuart...hopefully we'll see you again soon...Jeremy keeps proudly telling everybody about the first fish he ever caught.

Room Tip: It's a quiet bay, all rooms are excellent.
