“Real Hospitality”

Wow.....All I can think of is service and hospitality!!

My wife and I, were met and greeted upon arrival at this B&B by one of the owners. She offered to assist with our bags if we needed. Then, we were taken inside and shown the facilities...bedroom, bathroom and the recreation room and where to find a movie if we were so inclined. We took two movies but were just too tired and drained from our day's activities...touring the Scenic Caves in Blue Mtn and the humid weather condition to even finish watching them.

We were given a sheet with options for breakfast and ask to complete and return.

The next morning.......We received a breakfast fit for royalty (A+).

Our B/Rm +BathRm facilities were both good and we had no issues.

Checking out.....we given a bag of delightful cookies, greeted and thanked for staying at Willow Trace.

The experience was worth the money and I do not say this often.

Thank you.....Leanne & Phillip, keep up the good work.

Before going to Collingwood Ontario I checked on Trip Advisor and read the reviews for the B&Bs in the area. I narrowed it down to just 2 and finally made the decision to stay at Willow Trace. We loved that it was just a bit out of town and situated on 15 acres with lots of trees, gardens, and birds around. The fact that the owners were seasoned hosts and also gourmet cooks certainly was a selling point. We needed a place for 9 nights and usually divide our time between two or more B&B's for that length of time but decided we wanted to stay put for the entire stay in Collingwood. It certainly turned out to be the right decision. The home is beautiful, the hosts gracious, extremely friendly and accommodating. To say the food was delicious is putting it mildly. Leanne and Philip went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful one and were very knowledgeable about the area and recommended places for us to visit and several restaurants for us to try. All of the recommendations turned out to be good ones and we had a couple of delicious meals in places we would never have found on our own. It is definitely a holiday we will never forget and highly recommend it as a place to stay if you want quiet, beautiful surroundings, lovely people and delicious food plus lots of entertainment in the evening watching Leanne & Philip round up the ducks to put them to bed. Musn't forget Dodger the dog - he was as welcoming as his owners and so well behaved. Hopefully we will be back.

Room Tip: For a couple the Studio Room is lovely. The Garden Room ideal for families with children or dogs.

This was one of the more expensive places we stayed in on our tour of Southern Ontario but it had some strong plus points and the only negative we could find were the baffling satellite TV controls!

My husband recently surprised with a weekend in Collingwood for my birthday. What a wonderful time! And in large part due to Willowtrace.

Philip and Leanne (and Dodger) were wonderful hosts. Our room was large and bright (albeit a tad chilly -- nothing a big blanket didn't solve). We had time to play a game or two of pool in the downstairs guest area. Outside is huge property with chickens and ducks, and honey bees (they make their own honey). And beyond the yard is a lovely walk through the woods to an apple orchard (exactly the kind of relaxing atmosphere you CAN'T get in the city!).

Breakfast was delicious (you must try Philip's english breakfast!).

We were also fortunate to partake in Philip and Leanne's new cooking school one night, for "Date Night". We enjoyed a lovely evening cooking and chatting with Philip and Leanne about all things culinary, and had a wonderful meal to boot. It was fun experience, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in cooking. Plus, it was much cheaper than cooking classes we've taken in Toronto!

We initially tried to to have weekend away in the winter. My husband came down with the flu at the beginning of our stay and we had to leave abruptly, and without notice. Leanne and Philip kindly rebooked our trip and hosted us again in the spring.

The room was very comfortable. The food was outstanding. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed walking out to the little ponds, and touring the area.

Will definitely return.

My boyfriend and I (along with our mini weiner dog) chose to stay at Willow Trace for my birthday weekend this year. It's becoming a bit of a tradition for us to venture up to Collingwood for a winter getaway for a weekend in late February... and last year we stayed right smack in the Village at Blue Mountain. Although the location was great- we were definitely tourist-trapped.

Willow Trace is a short 5 minute drive from the base of the mountain and about a 7 minute drive from town. The setting is breathtaking and very secluded... the view outside of our window was of the family's rear property and of their chicken coop.

The host and hostess were so kind and accomodating- especially to our dog- she was free to roam the house while we left for a few hours each day! Mind you- she mostly stayed in our room because she is quite timid, it meant so much to us that she was cared for while we were gone and didn't have to go to some doggies-only hotel for the weekend... because she is so much a part our family.

Aside from that, the breakfast was incredible- we have really developed a palate for exquisite whole foods and fresh produce, and they definitely delivered. Breakfast was not something we considered missing out on the 2 mornings we awoke in the B&B.

The house was immaculately kept and very homey- we could pick out a dvd from the bookshelves outside our room and watch it in the privacy of our suite. Those are the touches we will go back for!

A stunning and immaculate home, surrounded by peaceful and breathtaking scenery. The Willow Trace Bed and Breakfast exceeded all of our expectations! Our room was cozy and spotless. The owners, Leanne and Phillip, were generous friendly hosts and served up a most spectacular breakfast!
We highly recommend this B&B! It’s a gem and an experience not to be missed!
