We stayed here one night and felt that it was a good value for the money. The updated room was bright and clean. The staff at this hotel were very helpful. We were in the area to hike so we did not use much of what the resort had to offer. I was surprised that there is no elevator in the resort, if you have numerous suitcases you may want to request a room on the first floor.
We had breakfast in the plaza beside the resort, Westside dinner. Excellent.

The hotel/resort location is allright, it is 10-15 min drive to the village and blue mountain. The rooms are recently upgraded, so it did look allright, however i could smell the paint all day, and it was evident that the job was poorly and half done! The bathroom and foyer/ door was not upgraded, or the carpet! So pretty much just the furniture perhaps. The AC unit was SO SO LOUD! It was too hot to turn it off, at the same time we couldnt sleep and even though there is a window, but no access to open up the window. So pretty much stuffy room, with smell of paint and HOT ! The restaurant quality is really WAY BELOW average. We dined for breakfast the first day, and the quality was horrible! Didnt go for the 2nd morning... When we asked where we can go for lunch/dinner, they directed us to another restaurant which was at least 5 min walk, and the quality of the other restaurant was not great either! Very simple, and limited options too. The pools, spa, restaurants, and other amnesties are scattered all over , and it's not like other resorts i have been that at least they have nice pathways with signs of where to go, it was just walking in the street and find your own way ! definitely will not recommend and stay away from this property!

Simple spot, close to everything..... Their new resort location is newer and nicer, but this does the trick for simplicity as most of our time was spent at blue mountain and location attractions. Blue Mountain, shopping, etc... just a couple of minutes drive away.

Room Tip: Stay on the main lobby floor if you have kids as that's where the pool is located.

Thank you for your comments regarding our hotel. We appreciate the time and effort in sharing your experiences because our focus is on the guest and providing the best experience. The resort has so much to offer our guests. Hopefully next time you will be able to enjoy our 18 hole golf course or entertainment at Station on the Green which is our outdoor deck at the golf course featuring live entertainment Saturday evenings. We also have live entertainment in our Lounge every Friday night. For the kids, check out the recreation centre which has planned activities, basketball, tennis as well as an outdoor pool.

Played a fortnight ago with my son and brother. Lovely course with on site wild deer! Great greens, and a welcoming clubhouse with reasonably priced food. Would have been a much better rating for the golf if they invested in a few sets of hire clubs - the ones we were given were awful !

Come on Cranberry - a few hundred dollars for some equipment and you'll have a great day out on offer.

If you have your own clubs on holiday, play here - it's a little gem.

Thank you for your comment. Did you know that the Cranberry Golf Club has the distinction of being appointed Canada's first Audubon Society certified golf course, and subsequently awarded the prestigious Environmental Stewardship Award. The Cranberry golf resort was also awarded a Gold Medal of the top golf resorts in Canada by Canada’s Golf Ranking Magazine.

Whether you are a serious or recreational player, this 18-hole Cranberry golf course will introduce you to 6,558 yards of expansive fairways, strategic bunkers and meticulously manicured greens. Whatever your status is as a player, you will be offered challenges and rewards.

Staff at front desk were friendly but knew very little about the resort. Room very poor quality for the price, we stayed in a standard room, windows are solid and cannot be opened for fresh air. Buffet breakfast horrible and expensive. Dinner same thing. Went to yuk, yuk really enjoyed the show and buffet dinner, great deal. Golf course very nice and challenging. Would never go back to this resort.

Room Tip: Would not recommend this hotel.

We booked an RCI Timeshare exchange to Cranberry as we wanted to explore this area of Canada. I am thankful for TripAdvisor as this helped manage my expectations going in - and this would be my encouragement to anyone booking here: MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Don't expect modern, new facilities, and you won't be disappointed. We were in the "Fairways" condos as part of our exchange. The unit we had is showing its age -- could use some new carpet, appliances, and furniture. The mattresses and linens appeared to be pretty new and we found them comfortable. The walls appeared to have been painted recently, but there were lots of chips and holes in the walls - likely remnants of all the ski equipment there in the winter. Mildew stains were pretty heavy in the bathroom showers, sinks were a bit stained (again, it's the age thing - and we all have some unsightly aging, don't we?) - but baths were clean. The units were generally clean but could use a good deep clean in every corner, nook, and cranny. The dishwasher in our unit did not work (and we just handwashed - no big deal) - but the issue was not addressed, even though we talked to two different people early in our week-long stay. Upon check-out, we found that there was no record of our repair request at all. When we checked in, we found a few bulbs in our until needed replacing, and this was done very quickly from when we let the front desk know - we were impressed by this! The washer/dryer combo was old and the dryer needed to run two or three cycles to dry our relatively small loads. The indoor pool is in dire need of an upgrade, and it was our understanding that this upgrade was scheduled to begin this month. The outdoor family pool was great - our kids loved it!

Bottom line, expect an older unit that is showing its age, and you will be fine. It's not the nicest timeshare exchange we've done, but we enjoyed our week and time in the unit. The area is great - as others have said, visit Blue Mountain Village and Scenic Caves for some excellent views and good physical activity in the summertime!

Thank you for your review. All hotels from time to time need to upgrade their furnishing and ownership is in the process of addressing this issue, We have already completed 2/3 of the rooms at the main hotel.

We (2 senior in laws, me, wife, 5yo boy) went July 2014 for a timeshare presentation in return for a deal-$100 for 2 nights (in laws paid full price $300). We were told we would be staying at the place the time share guests stay. Not True. Mr. Law (the owner) put everyone in the Cranberry "resort" (not quite as nice as a Motel 6), a short distance from "Living Waters" the fancy place they try to sell you.

The Bad - No elevator so you carry luggage up stairs to room; Housekeeping did a perfunctory job cleaning / making bed; The pool was not clean; The Restaurant food was tasteless but the flies did not seem to mind.

The Good - Staff friendly to a fault; The pontoon boat ride included was excellent; Restaurant booked live entertainment (Derek the guitar player was excellent); The sales presentation was bearable, they (comissioned salespersons) want $18K plus $900/yr for 99 years of "points" usable for about 2 weeks stay at their locations; The manager offered us modest compensation when they saw the state of our room.

Tips: You are no worse off staying at the Holiday Inn express, Luxury Inn or at the Intrawest timeshare deal. At Scenic Caves BRING RUNNING / HIKING SHOES or you will have to buy them there.

The rating would be higher if we were not lied to about where we would be staying when we signed up / paid at "the taste of italy" festival in Toronto. We highly recommend visiting the nearby Scenic Caves and Blue Mountain Village.
