“Fantastic lunches, best lattes/coffees in town”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

This place has great lunch specials. A different soup and sandwich/wrap special each day. The soups are amazing. Atmosphere is one of best in city. Lots of regulars, and coffees and specialty hot drinks are great.

“A lovely little café”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

A group of six of us enjoyed a light lunch at the William Street Café. This was our third visit to this restaurant, and we have been pleased each time.

It features natural brick walls, with lots of windows giving an open and airy feeling. Large modern art paintings decorate the walls, providing a very inviting atmosphere. There are a couple tables squeezed onto the sidewalk out front, but I would think the traffic noise would be bothersome there.

While the menu is somewhat limited, we have always found something enjoyable. On this visit I had a delicious portobello mushroom panini, crisp on the outside, warm and delightfully spicy on the inside. My wife had a ham and Swiss sandwich on amazingly thick slices of whole wheat bread.

There is a nice selection of coffee and tea drinks to choose from. I was especially pleased to learn that they have unsweetened ice tea, somewhat of a rarity in Southwestern Ontario.

You order your food at the preparation area in the back of the restaurant. When it is ready, someone brings it to your table. Those serving us were friendly and helpful.

“Not quite as expected!”
Reviewed 24 January 2013

The cafe was devastated by a fire in the building and when it re-opened it was just not the same. Food is still delicious but ambiance leaves a sense of something missing.

“More than a coffee shop”
Reviewed 6 January 2013

Excellent coffees and other drinks with freshly made cafe food and lemon meringue tarts to die for! Reasonably priced and a very comfortable atmosphere. Unique art on the exposed brick walls add to the ambiance.

“Excellent service, quality, selection...”

I had a white truffle russian tea (? I think that's what it was called?) and it was gorgeous! The staff are friendly, courteous, and the atmosphere is cozy and wonderful.
