Green Door Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 6 Brockville B&B and Inns
Reviewed 9 August 2012

After a long day of travel we were pleasantly surprised by what the Green Door had to offer. Our movie themed room (the Majestic) was spacious with a vaulted ceiling, air conditioning and large private ensuite bathroom.

Our host Peter suggested the Georgian Dragon Ale House, which was a short 5-minute walk to downtown Brockville and proved to be an excellent recommendation.

The breakfast was delicious and we found both Lynne & Peter to be friendly, and engaging hosts. We will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to others.

Peter and Lynn make the visitor feel really welcome. The beds were comfortable, the rooms immaculate, and the breakfasts superb. The building itself has an interesting history, and the interior is tastefully decorated in special ways. The lounge area is a very comfortable place to relax.
The location is really convenient being close to a good restaurant, a short distance to the CBD and within walking distance of the hospital.
The car park area is easy to acess.
Lynn makes wonderful marmalade!

We spent 3 nights here in late July and had two rooms. Everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms were spotlessly clean with lovely ensuite bathrooms.
The breakfasts were different each morning with each being delicious. Lynne & Peter were delightful hosts and very willing to give ideas for things to see & do in the Brockville area & recommended excellent local restaurants for evening dining.

I stayed here two nights in Mrs. Brown's Room which was bright, beautifully decorated and spacious. This B&B is excellent and I can't add much to the existing highly-positive reviews except to say that the breakfasts are delicious and include warm homemade baked goods, fresh fruit cups, and the best darn French Toast I have ever had.

We stopped here for one night during a five day trip from Montreal to Niagra and back.
Friends in Canada questioned why we were staying in Brockville, so we arrived with a little trepidation.
We needent have worried. Brockville itself is a great place to stop, and we couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay than the Green Door.
Everything about the place is absolutely spot on.
Peter and Lynn work tirelessly to make sure their guests have the best possible stay. The rooms have everything you could ever need, including the most comfortable of beds.
Breakfast in the morning, was fantastic and when it came time to leave, it was like leaving after staying with old friends.
We definately intend to make another, longer trip to Brockville, and we shall definitely be staying at the Green Door.

We've stayed at the The Green Door twice since 2010. Peter and Lyn are the consummate hosts. The B&B in a restored church is within walking distance of downtown and Lake Ontario, with lots of good local restaurants. Breakfasts are fantastic, not rushed. The decor has lovely hand painted accents throughout the entire B&B. Well worth a stay.

When a reserch project recently took me to Brockville for an extended stay, I booked into the Green Door. It had been several years since I last stayed at a Bed & Breakfast but the Green Door's downtown location was perfect. And so was my stay. The bed was comfortable, the room generous in size with a large ensuite bathroom. (Among the many added touches available, the Portofino towels were particularly lovely.) Breakfast was declious, varied and always just the right amount. In the evenings I enjoyed catching up on my research notes and email from a cozy corner in the comfortable main sitting room. Lynne and Peter Meleg are gracious hosts with an unerring sense of how to make their guests feel at home. If you are not usually a B&B person, this one is well worth a try. If you enjoy B&B, the Green Door should be at the top of your list. It is worth a stay just to experience the magic Lynne and Peter have accomplished in transforming this historic building. Thank you, Lynne and Peter, for a delightful stay.
