Room floor seemed to be rotting under carpet very flexy. Pool had just opened. Old but good for a quick dip. Over all an ok place for a short stay over . Bracebridge has a lot of character. Ate at The Old Station Restaurant nice place little price for a simple meal.
Continental breakfast was just enough to get you started in ur travels

We took a trip up North mid June, and chose this motel as it was listed with a pool. We paid $149.99/nigh before taxes, when other motels in the area were asking $80 - $90/night. The pool was not yet opened for the season. We were not forewarned of this, and when we asked upon arrival we were told that it was just closed for the evening and will open in the morning; it was only half full when we left at 11:00am.

When we called the owner about this he yelled and said it was our mistake, ending with hanging up the phone on my husband and I. He would not offer a discounted rate of any kind.

We stayed here overnight when we were bringing my daughter up to CNIB Lake Joe where she was going to work as a Baker for the summer. It was a great place, the people were very friendly and helpful when asking for directions, rooms clean, beds comfortable. Only thing that we were disappointed with was the pool was not open at the time. Although it was the beginning of June - the weather was very hot. On the bright side, probably would not have enjoyed the pool that much because there were also what seemed to be a few kids sports teams staying there also so the pool would have been overrun with kids. All in all, would definitely stay there again.

Dear Karen,
Thanks a lot for your time to write a review. we are glad to hear that your visit was enjoyable and comfortable. Regarding your feedback on the swimming pool, I am really sorry that the pool was not operations when you stayed here but just to let you know, being it a seasonal and outdoor pool, it gets opened as per the weather conditions and after getting required approvals from regulatory authorities and this year, we were able to open it on June 26.
Thanks again and we hope to see you again in future.

Booked online. When plans changed a week in advance and stay was not necessary, went to cancel online only to find out I booked with a prepaid and "no cancellation" instead of CAA. While respecting the policy, I called to see if I could cancel or rebook for another time. I was told the manager would call back. No call after a few days so sent an email and again with no response.
So...we honoured the reservation. No problem, my fault on the booking, but would have been nice to have some communication.
The motel is nice. The rooms and grounds are very clean and well kept. The rooms are modern, the beds comfortable and washrooms adequate. Extra sink outside of bathroom is nice. The bed spreads seem to be dated in their colour/designs. Something brighter would compliment the room.
Interaction that we did have with staff was very friendly.
Breakfast was fresh, but basic. Trays available to take food back to room.
Pool was not open for mid June. Was hoping for a swim.
Overall I would come back. Disappointed in lack of communication regarding booking, but stay was enjoyable and comfortable. I do think that the rooms are somewhat overpriced.

Room Tip: "Sleepy Bear" rooms are set back from the road backing onto trees which offer quiet.

Dear Guest,
First of all, thanks a lot for proving such a detailed review. When customers provide detailed feedback, both positive and negative, it helps us a lot to improve our customer service and also encourage us to continue doing good work which customers appreciate. I am really disappointed to hear about the communications issue but let me clarify that when you book online or through travel agencies, we don't have any control over those bookings. we just have to follow their policies and instructions and many times, bookings through online agencies might be non-cancellables. I am really sorry that you were disappointed but happy to know that your stay was enjoyable. In future, if we can do anything more to make your stay more comfortable, never hesitate to call or send us an email in advance.
Thanks,
GM, Travelodge, Bracebridge
