i always enjoy holiday inns. they never fail to satisfy what i look for in a hotel and this establishment was no different. friendly people, decent breakfast, very clean and close to the main highways. i would absolutely stay here again. pet friendly and a welcoming grounds for the pets to stretch out their legs. reasonably priced, this hotel won't dissapoint those who have come to expect consistently solid service from their holiday inn.

Truly an exceptional facility. Up to date rooms, comfy beds, and friendly staff. The highlight for me was the broad array of fitness equipment and pool, hot tub etc. All that you need is here (sans restaurant). Had breakfast at the restaurant, it was average or just below averge though. May be just an off day.

Stayed in Truro our last night in Nova Scotia. Holiday Inn with a spa/suite. Great room. Restaurant in the hotel for breakfast and dinner. Price was right. Would stay there again. In the Who Knew Department: there is some Canadian "law" that says hamburgers cannot be cooked/served medium rare (perhaps our witress was a trickster?). This "law" does not apply to steaks, however. Would stay here again despite the well done burgers!

Room Tip: 4th floor is as high as you can go. There are no views.

Thank you for your review. It is wonderful to hear that you decided to stay at our hotel on your last night in Nova Scotia. We have two spa/suites on property and they are always popular with our guests. We are delighted to hear that you dined at the Bistro for breakfast and dinner and you found the price right. According to our Executive Chef, the Canadian Food & Drug Agency changed the standards around cooking ground beef. Curious, like you, I asked why the same standards do not apply to beef steak…apparently, ground beef is mechanically processed and therefore requires a different standard of cooking. More information is available at the following website. www.publichealth.gc.ca. Again, thanks so much for your feedback, we really appreciate it.

This was not supposed to be our hotel for the evening. Actually, Truro wasn't even supposed to be our destination. Due to a cancelled flight, we arrived a day late into Halifax and had to readjust the first few days of our Nova Scotia vacation. Our destination for this particular evening was supposed to be a 5-hr. drive from Halifax. But after arriving at 8pm a day late (and without our luggage), we were forced to make a reservation with the help of some Nova Scotia reservations center. Since it was back-to-school weekend for the college kids, the city of Halifax was sold out. So we drove the 50 min. or so to Truro to crash for the evening before taking off the next morning to get back on track with our vacation. We were very appreciative of finding a room at the Holiday Inn. They were very accommodating to a couple of frazzled vacationers starting their trip without luggage. And the price was very reasonable. We were able to get some much needed sleep before departing the next morning.

We stop here once a year since they remodeled, and every year it is the same. Helpful, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, better-than-average food, convenient location. We usually eat dinner and breakfast here, then make for Victoria Park which is one of Nova Scotia's hidden gems.

Room Tip: They are pretty much all the same, I think, and the Inn is on a side-street so traffic noise is not...

The room was large and spotless. The restaurant was wonderful. They have a variety of well presented foods. The chef is a careful fellow. You can't go wrong with this place. Special kudos to our waitress, Tracy. We were impressed.

Great atmosphere, ample amenities, courteous staff & very cozy & nice rooms. My 10 year old daughter & I had a great time in the pool & it was very close to the shopping district.

The rooms were clean, staff was considerate & they gave us a meal voucher for my daughter. The courtesy when arriving was very friendly & warming to an almost personal level. We had an amazing sleep & never heard a thing while there. We left wanting to stay much longer for the relaxing atmosphere that was there.

I would definitely suggest this to anyone that wants a peaceful visit.

The only downfall was the price considering it's close to the off season & we were a family of two which should have made it a little more affordable.

Room Tip: Northeast side is quiet & you can see your vehicle

Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you found the hotel had a great atmosphere, ample amenities, and nice rooms. Our pool is a great hit with kids of all ages and our location to downtown makes the shopping very convenient. I am very happy to hear that you found the rooms were clean, and our staff considerate, courteous, very friendly and warming to an almost personal level! That is what we strive for!! Sounds like your daughter enjoyed our ‘Kids Eat Free’ program. I also hear that you felt the price could have been more affordable...our high season runs from July to end of September, and our prices are reflected that way. Again, many thanks for taking the time to write this review…we really appreciate your feedback.
