“Loved Eagle's Landing B&B”
Reviewed 3 July 2007

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 4 days! The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious and the breakfasts are great! The Tobins are wonderful hosts. They are extremely helpful when advice or recommendations are needed, yet they give you lots of "space" and you often feel that you have the house to yourself. We started our Nova Scotia trip with them and returned for our last night with them before flying out. It felt like coming home for that last night! We highly recommend Eagles' Landing!

We have just returned from very memorable week in Nova Scotia. After flying to Halifax for our first time, we rented a vehicle from the airport & found ourselves checking in to Eagle's Landing just about 25 miles or so from the airport. We didn't have a map at the time & only meant to stop in Truro(sp??) to find one when we stumbled onto this place a few mins off the main highway, so it was perfect for our tired family. Not normally 'B&B people' (well, my husband mostly), we thought it would be a good way to start our trip & to get some local travelling tips for our week in NS. We ended up staying 2 nights at this wonderful place! The owner's, Janice & Don, went above & beyond with their hospitality. By the end, it was like we'd stayed with old friends. They allowed us to check in through their own private entrance because it was raining quite heavily at the time & it allowed us to get soaking selves & luggage in faster! Our room was very cosy & beautifully decorated, with it's own private bathroom...not to mention spotlessly clean, as was their entire home. Our "giggly" 10 & 12 yr olds had their own cutely decorated room with matching twin beds & they just loved Don & Janice. As guests, you also get free roam of a large private balcony & cosy living room with fireplace. Also, their property, though not large, was beautifully landscaped & they had benches around their garden which made a lovely spot to enjoy afternoon tea..
They knew a lot about the surrounding area & gave us excellent advice on travelling. They also had complimentary brochures & maps that they had even outlined for us. The breakfast was amazing. When you stay, be sure to ask Janice make her famous bananna bread french toast - so yummy!!! For day 2, she had made a "real Nova Scotian" breakfast, which included eggs with homeade beans & fish cakes, along with some fresh fruit. So neat! we loved it!

Overall I would say this was probably the most charming place we have ever stayed & we can't wait to come back!
